Description This week's theme on Battle Artist is Gambit.

When I think of Gambit, I think of the long romantic story involving him and Rogue. Gambit has devolved from an action hero to a lead in a chick flick. So I've placed him and Rogue in a classic pose from the movie "The Notebook".

In the theatre watching the movie are the X-babies, who have, obviously, lost interest in the film...with maybe the exception of Dazzler (with Longshot) and the weepy Storm.

Movie - acrylic on canvas board
Audience - ink wash and ink on vellum paper.

this is cool and funny bro ...excellent job . loving the x-babies...excellent execution-great personality on each one(particularly storm). and of course loving the notebook theme-what better to suit gambit .

If nothing else...mock the character!

Overall I like the piece...I could've used another day or two to clean up some of edges, etc...

Waiting for the next topic....ZZZZZ

Drink and Draw on Monday! I'm planning on going if it's on.

Bought Cho's XVA #0...will read tonight.

Checked out the Badassry website...not shaddy...gave you a decent page.

indeed...if a character was designed to be mocked it is gambit . and again loving all the x-babies-just a very well thought and executed piece here .

Interesting take. I've never actually seen the Notebook, so I can't make much of a comment about that. Love using the X-babies though, I find that hilarious. I definitely think you found a way to do something different this week, and I think our predictions for the other pieces came true.

Don't judge me...I've never seen the Notebook. I googled most romantic kisses.

Thanks. I wanted to contrast the over-romantic with silliness, and to that effect, I think I was successful.

Oh that's great! Love Storm in the corner. Longshot and Dazzler down in front is a nice touch.

The first thing I thought of when I considered X-babies in the movie theatre was Longshot and Dazzler together. Second was Nightcrawler bamfing from seat to seat.

LMAO!!! Awesome! Always love the thought and effort you put into your work! I also love when you mix the wash and acrylics! You handled rogue and gambit with some great skill

For several pieces in a row, I've made the main character (Theme) front and center and yet hid at the same time.

Turtles in painting behind April and Shredder...probably the battle piece with the least amount of turtles.
Minotaur in cut panels.
Now, Gambit on screen surrounded by silliness. You come for the Gambit, but stay for the X-babies!

Thanks for the comment. Glad you got a laugh.
