((Things to note first: I gave him the persona of a real cheetah, since he hasn't had the comfort of tribe life like the tribecheetahs do. And the coalition name is the actual name of a native african tribe on the eastern coast just north of the ivory coast, where they primarily speak swahili so i just thought it fit. His compassion even goes as far as not wanting to hurt other animals - his philosophy is 'whatever bleeds and breath, feels as well' - He will always say this to someone when they are being overly aggressive.

Obligated - Being the second middle child of his family, its unexplained why he feels this way. Dari feels obligated to the actions and fates of those around him. He is not afraid to accept the consequences of others, or to take things into his own paws if the job isn't getting done right. 'Want something done right, gotta do it yourself..' is what he always says, never exasperatedly, always ready for duty and ready to be the man of the house.

Level three voice is the scariest thing since the invention of the lion's roar, loud and thundering, like a roar but more gravelly and coarse, flowing from his teeth like the flooding Nile to assault the ears of whoever it is directed to. He has a way of directing his voice as well, it strengthens his manipulative trait, because public speaking is a very important skill to have when you're the leader of the largest coalition on the plains.

Tail- A segment of fur from his tail is missing, this was caused by the constant beating he took when he was omega of the Watu. The three males took turns biting at his tail to annoy and hurt, but not injure Hodari (they needed him to feed them)

Shoulder- The three gashes reach under the skin layer and into his fat and muscle, it never healed and is now a horrific mass of damaged skin. These scars were caused by a flopped attempt to make it into the Watu where Hodari had jumped in front of a leopard to save one of the Watu males. Thankfully, the young Hodari had escaped, barely, with his life.

Biography

Hodari has been through hell and back, and it shows on his body. His eyes have half circles under them all the time, his pelt is dingy and dry, and he bares many scars for such a young cat.

Birth
He was born to a loner cheetess whose name he never knew, he simply addressed her as 'mother'. He was also born and raised without a name, thus he and his siblings addressed eachother as 'brother' or 'sister'. As with every cheetah family, the times after his birth were hard, every one of his littermates died as they grew up in the harsh, vast, and dangerous environment. The first two were killed by a baboon, and the third cub starved to death. Hodari was the only cub who survived to adulthood, and this was only thanks to his mature and cunning personality and mindset.

- Life Feeds Off Life -

Spring was supposed to be a time of vibrant life in nature, but for some it's a time of great death. Hodari and his brothers and sisters had been left in a dried up riverbed while their mother was out hunting. The vegetated banks of the bed reached high above them, giving them a feeling of security. But it was false - eyes were watching them from the thick underbrush lining the riverbed edge. The four cubs jumped over eachother as they played, oblivious to the hungry beast. "Brother, stop iiit!" Young Hodari cried out as he pushed his brother's jaws away from his ears. Hodari was the elephant and his siblings were the birds, who clung annoyingly to his ears. He finally escaped by darting up the edge of the riverbed and into a small abandoned rodent burrow in the wall of the bank. Only his sister had managed to follow him up there, scrambling with her long legs up to his perch of safety. The two brothers were left chirping up from below, Hodari taunting them from above, "Ha-" Suddenly a hideous scream erupted from the bushes before Hodari could finish his taunt. Dari and his sister stumbled backwards deeper into the cave, Hodari in the front, a clear view of what was happening beneath him. A huge brown animal, a male baboon ran out and scooped up his tiny siblings with ease. A shrill cry for his mother's help rang out, "MAMAAA!" Then the sound of breaking bones. He looked down at his brother, who dangled lifeless in the baboon's hand, his head hanging in the most unnatural angle. The baboon took the second brother and did the same thing, twisting his head like he was picking a flower, until his cries were silenced.
Dari ducked back into the burrow with his sister until the baboon left, Dari refusing to say a word to his sister, who sat and cried until their mother's warm calls could be heard from the outside. Hodari was petrified. The image of his mutilated siblings hung like a cold rag in his mind, to this very day.

His mother eventually returned, to find nothing of the two brothers, and her surviving cubs cold and scared.

- Everyone i Know Goes Away Anyway -

From the day of his brothers' deaths, he held his sister and mother very closely. As the man of the family, he was determined to become defender of their territory, and eliminate any threats that confronted his meager family. However, there was one thing he couldn't protect from. He could defend his sister and mother from baboons and leopards by his 7th moon, but what he couldn't do was something not even his mother could guarantee. Nourishment. One moon, his mother's milk went dry, and she couldn't catch anything for a week straight, minus small guinea-fowl and mice. This was worse than watching his brothers' deaths - Hodari helplessly realized his sister was wasting away from the inside. Her waist became small and her eyes bulging and yellow as her health diminished from lack of food. His mother ate her fill, to keep what little milk she had left flowing for her two cubs, trying to distribute it evenly between them. They were all starving, but his sister's body took it particularly hard. One day, Dari's mother and he came back to find the sister with a coalition of males, trying to mooch a kill off of them using her body as an entry. This was the first time Hodari had met the Watu. His sister, who was barely weaned from her milk, was being prostituted by the three Watu males. However, she managed to get food from them. After the mating, and the free food, she came back to her family with a slab of meat. Hodari and his mother were disappointed, but knew it was desperation that led her to do it. But the full bellies and content feelings were short lived. The next week, Dari's sister was pronounced pregnant by mother. It was a long moon after that, his sister was much too young to birth healthy cubs, and it was unpredictable what would happen to her or the cubs. However, one day, her fate was sealed. The cubs were born early due to the sister's poor diet, and came out as tiny little balls of pink, not distinguishable cheetah features. The sister lay there bleeding and exhausted for a long time, her insides tensing and untensing from the irregular delivery. The sister died in front of her family, crying, her innocence taken from her frail body, and with her, Hodari's mind died as well. From that day on, he was insensitive to most any traumatic event that would happen. Seeing such gore and sin in a single lifetime, no cat would forget that.

Adolescence
At 1 cycle and 4 moons, he began to chase around the Watu, the coalition that had used and killed his sister. He wanted to be accepted into their brotherhood - not to have brothers, but to avenge his sister. His mother followed them from behind, watching over her little Dari, catching food for him when the Watu wouldn't share.
During the time he spent trying to make it into the Watu, he tangled with a leopard (see scars/shoulder), was beaten several times, almost starved to death, nearly drowned in a flash flood, and was mauled by a blackbok trying to bring it down for his to-be coalition.
One day, the Watu alpha male, Asubuhi, found out Hodari was being followed by his mother, and made a deal with Hodari. Dari would be accepted into the coalition only if Asubuhi was allowed to mate with Dari's mother. Now you'd think after the incident with his sister, neither Dari nor his mother would allow the Watu near mother, but they both knew it was for the best. Asubuhi accepted Hodari into the Watu the next day, after a night with Dari's mother. This only gave him more reason to enact revenge upon the vile brotherhood.

Eventually, Hodari's mother became too pregnant to follow the brotherhood around, and the broken family had to part once and for all. It was emotional. Hodari's hard mind protected him against feelings of trauma, but not this kind of feeling. This kind of feeling was felt from his bones all the way to the tip of every piece of fur on his body. A feeling of letting go entirely, and although he was reluctant to leave the warm loving company of his mother, it was for the best. For the both of them. Hodari had big plans for his future coalition...

- Revenge and rise to power -
An entire cycle of hunting, mischief, girl chasing, and ransackery followed, then almost suddenly the three other males were now at the command of Hodari, who had attacked the current leader into submission with the help of the other two Watu males whom he had managed to convince that the leader was unfairly claiming too many kills for himself. After he claimed the leader position, he named himself 'Hodari" as a symbol of his power. He had proven himself. The first thing Hodari did after he secured his seat as leader; kill the former leader, who was weak from the earlier attack. Hodari had fulfilled his vow. The killing also ended any further disputes between the other two males of his coalition, Hodari ruled their territory with iron claws.

Adulthood
Along with naming himself, he renamed the Watu 'Black Babukurs', the name of his father's coalition. That was a special memory for Hodari, the image of his father and the many cheetahs who followed the noble man. His dad and the gang visited him and his mother on their weekly cycles around their range, the name 'Babukur' branded into his brain just like the images of his siblings dying. The first part of the name, 'Black', was added to 'Babukur' for two reasons, 1) to represent the impurity of Hodari's coalition's bloodline, for it wasn't totally his/his father's, and 2) to differentiate his father's coalition from his, if his father's coalition was still even in existence. ~~~
As the moons passed, the Black Babukurs had grown in number, because Hodari was unlike the previous leader. He was fair and just and accepted anyone from anywhere without question, and never treated any new member like he had been treated in the Watu. He even accepted females.

"I didn't have much in my life, no family after my mother left me, no power in my coalition for the first cycle, just a cheetah on his own. But all that's made me hard, prepared me for my leadership. I am ready."

The tribes have entered Black Babukur territory- "I am not happy about this. If they think they can just prance over and kill our prey and steal out herbs, they have another thing coming to them.."

Other than that, he's also a loyal member of the Babukurs, even if he runs away often, he always comes back with a good sized prey animal."

ANyway, this guy is a bit strange because he has a strange personality. One moment he'll be kind and reserved, then he'll be bloodthirsty. It does help in battles, but i'm afraid he'll do something rash."

-Kifo cha Audi - - "Kifo is one hell of a female. Strong, independent, one of the most valuable fighters in the coalition. If she weren't so violent and crazy i'd put her as second in command.. I haven't given that position to anyone yet."

-Kupoteza Jicho - - "Kupoteza is another one of those fighting souls. He cae from a militaristic coalition who treated him like dirt, but they did teach him a thing or two about fighting, and thats something the Babukurs need. Kupo is the most loyal cheetah i have ever seen."

-Sikio Bundi - - "Siki is one sharp tack, thats for sure. His hunting techniques are ingenious, i don't know what we'd do without him!"

-Binti wa Shetani - - "Ah, Maradi. She's a sensitive butterfly, likes to pretend like she's emotionless, but in truth she has as much heart as anyone. A strong fighter too, and loyal. She's the one who'd be closest to second in command."

Kikao slammed backwards into the wall, panting heavily as blood flowed from the wound on her shoulder. Kuishi's eyes still flashed in her mind, as well as the darkness that engulfed her, and nearly claimed Uchafu as well. "Oh sweet sisters-" She heard Kuishi's impact below, a quiet thud in the darkness. "-forgive me.." Chafu slid down onto her rear, trying to register what she had done. She had killed someone. That person also tried to kill her too. "Kuishi.." She breathed, saying the name as if honoring the life she had just taken. She felt a mixture of excitement, regret, and pain flooding through her, Kikao was alone in the cave now, and it didn't make her feel any better than when the sunning rocks cheetess had been with her.

Eyes closed, she waited until the blood stopped pounding in her ears, until only the sound of the waterfall hissed around her. Almost calming. It was better than sheer silence that was for sure. She opened her iridescent eyes, and looked over to the blue waterfall. It must lead to the ocean if its lit up like that.. She thought to herself. "Kuishi." She repeated. Uchafu would remember the name forever. She felt like she had passed that point where cubs turn into adults, she had killed another cheetah. She chuckled and got up, peaking over the side of the ledge. "Rest peacefully."
Uchafu turned away and looked ahead at the path before her. She sighed shakily, would she ever find her way back? Well not if she stayed there. Kikao began to trot forward, leaving Kuishi's body behind, praying her spirit wouldn't haunt her.

- Life Feeds Off Life -

Spring was supposed to be a time of vibrant life in nature, but for some it's a time of great death. Hodari and his brothers and sisters had been left in a dried up riverbed while their mother was out hunting. The vegetated banks of the bed reached high above them, giving them a feeling of security. But it was false - eyes were watching them from the thick underbrush lining the riverbed edge. The four cubs jumped over eachother as they played, oblivious to the hungry beast. "Brother, stop iiit!" Young Hodari cried out as he pushed his brother's jaws away from his ears. Hodari was the elephant and his siblings were the birds, who clung annoyingly to his ears. He finally escaped by darting up the edge of the riverbed and into a small abandoned rodent burrow in the wall of the bank. Only his sister had managed to follow him up there, scrambling with her long legs up to his perch of safety. The two brothers were left chirping up from below, Hodari taunting them from above, "Ha-" Suddenly a hideous scream erupted from the bushes before Hodari could finish his taunt. Dari and his sister stumbled backwards deeper into the cave, Hodari in the front, a clear view of what was happening beneath him. A huge brown animal, a male baboon ran out and scooped up his tiny siblings with ease. A shrill cry for his mother's help rang out, "MAMAAA!" Then the sound of breaking bones. He looked down at his brother, who dangled lifeless in the baboon's hand, his head hanging in the most unnatural angle. The baboon took the second brother and did the same thing, twisting his head like he was picking a flower, until his cries were silenced.
Dari ducked back into the burrow with his sister until the baboon left, Dari refusing to say a word to his sister, who sat and cried until their mother's warm calls could be heard from the outside. Hodari was petrified. The image of his mutilated siblings hung like a cold rag in his mind, to this very day.

His mother eventually returned, to find nothing of the two brothers, and her surviving cubs cold and scared.

- Everyone i Know Goes Away Anyway -

From the day of his brothers' deaths, he held his sister and mother very closely. As the man of the family, he was determined to become defender of their territory, and eliminate any threats that confronted his meager family. However, there was one thing he couldn't protect from. He could defend his sister and mother from baboons and leopards by his 7th moon, but what he couldn't do was something not even his mother could guarantee. Nourishment. One moon, his mother's milk went dry, and she couldn't catch anything for a week straight, minus small guinea-fowl and mice. This was worse than watching his brothers' deaths - Hodari helplessly realized his sister was wasting away from the inside. Her waist became small and her eyes bulging and yellow as her health diminished from lack of food. His mother ate her fill, to keep what little milk she had left flowing for her two cubs, trying to distribute it evenly between them. They were all starving, but his sister's body took it particularly hard. One day, Dari's mother and he came back to find the sister with a coalition of males, trying to mooch a kill off of them using her body as an entry. This was the first time Hodari had met the Watu. His sister, who was barely weaned from her milk, was being prostituted by the three Watu males. However, she managed to get food from them. After the mating, and the free food, she came back to her family with a slab of meat. Hodari and his mother were disappointed, but knew it was desperation that led her to do it. But the full bellies and content feelings were short lived. The next week, Dari's sister was pronounced pregnant by mother. It was a long moon after that, his sister was much too young to birth healthy cubs, and it was unpredictable what would happen to her or the cubs. However, one day, her fate was sealed. The cubs were born early due to the sister's poor diet, and came out as tiny little balls of pink, not distinguishable cheetah features. The sister lay there bleeding and exhausted for a long time, her insides tensing and untensing from the irregular delivery. The sister died in front of her family, crying, her innocence taken from her frail body, and with her, Hodari's mind died as well. From that day on, he was insensitive to most any traumatic event that would happen. Seeing such gore and sin in a single lifetime, no cat would forget that.

Adolescence
At 1 cycle and 4 moons, he began to chase around the Watu, the coalition that had used and killed his sister. He wanted to be accepted into their brotherhood - not to have brothers, but to avenge his sister. His mother followed them from behind, watching over her little Dari, catching food for him when the Watu wouldn't share.
During the time he spent trying to make it into the Watu, he tangled with a leopard (see scars/shoulder), was beaten several times, almost starved to death, nearly drowned in a flash flood, and was mauled by a blackbok trying to bring it down for his to-be coalition.
One day, the Watu alpha male, Asubuhi, found out Hodari was being followed by his mother, and made a deal with Hodari. Dari would be accepted into the coalition only if Asubuhi was allowed to mate with Dari's mother. Now you'd think after the incident with his sister, neither Dari nor his mother would allow the Watu near mother, but they both knew it was for the best. Asubuhi accepted Hodari into the Watu the next day, after a night with Dari's mother. This only gave him more reason to enact revenge upon the vile brotherhood.

Eventually, Hodari's mother became too pregnant to follow the brotherhood around, and the broken family had to part once and for all. It was emotional. Hodari's hard mind protected him against feelings of trauma, but not this kind of feeling. This kind of feeling was felt from his bones all the way to the tip of every piece of fur on his body. A feeling of letting go entirely, and although he was reluctant to leave the warm loving company of his mother, it was for the best. For the both of them. Hodari had big plans for his future coalition...

- Revenge and rise to power -
An entire cycle of hunting, mischief, girl chasing, and ransackery followed, then almost suddenly the three other males were now at the command of Hodari, who had attacked the current leader into submission with the help of the other two Watu males whom he had managed to convince that the leader was unfairly claiming too many kills for himself. After he claimed the leader position, he named himself 'Hodari" as a symbol of his power. He had proven himself. The first thing Hodari did after he secured his seat as leader; kill the former leader, who was weak from the earlier attack. Hodari had fulfilled his vow. The killing also ended any further disputes between the other two males of his coalition, Hodari ruled their territory with iron claws.

Adulthood
Along with naming himself, he renamed the Watu 'Black Babukurs', the name of his father's coalition. That was a special memory for Hodari, the image of his father and the many cheetahs who followed the noble man. His dad and the gang visited him and his mother on their weekly cycles around their range, the name 'Babukur' branded into his brain just like the images of his siblings dying. The first part of the name, 'Black', was added to 'Babukur' for two reasons, 1) to represent the impurity of Hodari's coalition's bloodline, for it wasn't totally his/his father's, and 2) to differentiate his father's coalition from his, if his father's coalition was still even in existence. ~~~
As the moons passed, the Black Babukurs had grown in number, because Hodari was unlike the previous leader. He was fair and just and accepted anyone from anywhere without question, and never treated any new member like he had been treated in the Watu. He even accepted females.

"I didn't have much in my life, no family after my mother left me, no power in my coalition for the first cycle, just a cheetah on his own. But all that's made me hard, prepared me for my leadership. I am ready."

The tribes have entered Black Babukur territory- "I am not happy about this. If they think they can just prance over and kill our prey and steal out herbs, they have another thing coming to them.."

-Kukonya - - "Even though this guy is gay, Konya is a loyal friend and Babukur. He has some pretty interesting talents as well, i didn't even know he was blind until i had accepted him into the coalition! He works just fine without sight."

-Uzuri - - "She's a pretty cheetess in the Babukurs. As well as a loyal and hardworking coalition mate, someday maybe we'll have cubs."

-Kinyago - - "If Kukonya is slightly gay, Kinyago is VERY gay. I blame my discomfort towards him on his flirtatious nature, which is a bit over the top sometimes.. He knows i'm not that way, hopefully.. So maybe he'll keep his paws to himself around me. Other than that, he's also a loyal member of the Babukurs, even if he runs away often, he always comes back with a good sized prey animal."

-Chini ya Alizeti na Visuka - - "I never noticed how many males in my coalition were gay.. Well nevermind that, at least they won't take all the females! More for me eheh.. ANyway, this guy is a bit strange because he has a strange personality. One moment he'll be kind and reserved, then he'll be bloodthirsty. It does help in battles, but i'm afraid he'll do something rash."

-Kifo cha Audi - - "Kifo is one hell of a female. Strong, independent, one of the most valuable fighters in the coalition. If she weren't so violent and crazy i'd put her as second in command.. I haven't given that position to anyone yet."

-Kupoteza Jicho - - "Kupoteza is another one of those fighting souls. He cae from a militaristic coalition who treated him like dirt, but they did teach him a thing or two about fighting, and thats something the Babukurs need. Kupo is the most loyal cheetah i have ever seen."

-Sikio Bundi - - "Siki is one sharp tack, thats for sure. His hunting techniques are ingenious, i don't know what we'd do without him!"

-Binti wa Shetani - - "Ah, Maradi. She's a sensitive butterfly, likes to pretend like she's emotionless, but in truth she has as much heart as anyone. A strong fighter too, and loyal. She's the one who'd be closest to second in command."

Roleplay Example:

Character: Kikao cha Uchafu
Kikao slammed backwards into the wall, panting heavily as blood flowed from the wound on her shoulder. Kuishi's eyes still flashed in her mind, as well as the darkness that engulfed her, and nearly claimed Uchafu as well. "Oh sweet sisters-" She heard Kuishi's impact below, a quiet thud in the darkness. "-forgive me.." Chafu slid down onto her rear, trying to register what she had done. She had killed someone. That person also tried to kill her too. "Kuishi.." She breathed, saying the name as if honoring the life she had just taken. She felt a mixture of excitement, regret, and pain flooding through her, Kikao was alone in the cave now, and it didn't make her feel any better than when the sunning rocks cheetess had been with her.

Eyes closed, she waited until the blood stopped pounding in her ears, until only the sound of the waterfall hissed around her. Almost calming. It was better than sheer silence that was for sure. She opened her iridescent eyes, and looked over to the blue waterfall. It must lead to the ocean if its lit up like that.. She thought to herself. "Kuishi." She repeated. Uchafu would remember the name forever. She felt like she had passed that point where cubs turn into adults, she had killed another cheetah. She chuckled and got up, peaking over the side of the ledge. "Rest peacefully."
Uchafu turned away and looked ahead at the path before her. She sighed shakily, would she ever find her way back? Well not if she stayed there. Kikao began to trot forward, leaving Kuishi's body behind, praying her spirit wouldn't haunt her.
