I think this is awesome. I like that you captured an action that most people don't. I only wish you had gotten the full body of the lioness in it. Great photo though.

:] Thanks... one thing I need to work on is my framing of the photo. I tend to get caught up in what I am actually focusing on (the tongue in this case) and forgetting to frame the whole thing... but I'm learning. :]

Yes... This was shot at approx 5x I guess... The original shows even more detail but it's about twice the size so I had to reduce it to post...

It was taken at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. I agree about the captive look... but quite frankly most of the animals looked bored :-P The surroundings aren't very "natural" either. Oh well...
