It was surprisingly hard to find any references for a prince’s crown. 👑 I’ve never liked the big velvet-topped crowns kings wear, and while I don’t think crowns and tiaras ought to be gendered, anything very delicate or ornate isn’t really Jace’s style either. Whether this crown was made for him, or belonged to some other prince from ages past, I'm not sure yet. Either way, it was definitely made for a fire-wielding warrior prince- hammered bronze and gold, rivets, flame-shaped prongs set with red stones (ruby, garnet, spinel). In the right light, it looks like a crown of flickering flames, especially in his golden hair. 🔥
He'll make a good, devoted prince, and the kingdom's councils will benefit from having the perspective of someone raised outside of nobility. And in time, he'll be an even finer king.
Also, I totally should have given him a cape.
