I did this a while ago...and i've always wanted to draw characters based on pokemon designs (but not quite gijinkas) so I did eevee-lution trainers instead!!
left to right: Espeon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Eevee, Leafeon, Umbreon, Glaceon, Jolteon
before doing this pic my brother asked me: "why can't you draw boys?
"it's because i am made of fail, okay? >___<"
i gave it a shot though...@____@
tools:3H pencil, fineliners, derwent inktense pencils, sea salt, acrylic paint, daler-rowney white acrylic ink, indian ink, 2x A4 bristol board, faber castell watercolour pencil(skin colour)
time:...35-40 hours?? @____@
this will probably be the last traditional art i'll do for a while...(aiming to improve my digital ^^)
also, i apologize for the small viewing size ^^"

Same here, except I'm more of a writer XD I think I've got a good couple thousand things I need to get done, and I'm wither too lazy or procrastinationally inclined to do any of it...you know how it is, clearly.

Lovely! I love how you gave them all different styles and personalities, and the changing of the background colour makes it united, but also different for each one as well.

Great idea, but kind of bad execution.
I get that you didn't want to make them too much like the pokemon, but, if you were going to work this way ...don't you think you should have aimed for the personality of the pokemon. If it wasn't for your description, to be honest, I would have no clue that was your aim. Things like giving the girl spiky hair for Jolteon, maybe long and flowing for Vaporeon that resemble the personality or element of the pokemon.
Otherwise, they look like a line up of trainers without the pokemon connection.
Yet, this is a very beautiful work, and it looks wonderful. I especially love the one that is suppose to represent Umbreon, she fits perfectly. I just wish it would have been done as well with the others. Anyway, great work.

yeahhh i know what you mean ^^" but i really didnt want it to be just another cliche group of trainers @___@ (like, vaporeon gijinkas always seem to have long hair, flowing dresses etc..)
and plus i have no idea what personalities to give to each pokemon XD so i just stuck with the colour theme
jolteon is a guy btw XD (i knowwwww im no good at drawing guys lolll)

Well, it has to be cliche a little if you want one to be related to the other. Otherwise, why bother to relate it at all, but I get it you were looking for a unique way to do it.
Well, this is a suggestion, why not try tattoos so it's more like a seeking game.
Then, you decide upon the personality of each element...ice is cold. So having someone with a look that seemed to be aloof would have been great. Electricity comes across as a wild person, and fire, hot ....sexy is easily translated over with fire. Water, could be shy ....or quite violent, depends on how you see it .... In other words, that part was up to you to convey ...that is why it seemed that the idea wasn't flushed out ....not really.

when i think about it, i really didn't plan their designs at all XD...just kinda put down whatever i thought looked nice...but thanks for the advice!!
