Yup, finally doing some non-character bio solo art of a Skylanders character besides Douser! Ugh, I really need to do this more often. After awhile I just have so many ideas of scenario's to draw Douser in that the other characters tend to be pushed off to the side--even though Trine isn't an oc, but he's such a loose adaptation off a character that already didn't have much of a presence that I sort of have the same pride I do with him for some of my oc's--even more so, since I have the joy of knowing I gave life to an irrelevant character. I've always been a Trine fan--even if I never thought much of him, I thought a comic-exclusive character was amazing. And he was always the first thing that came to mind when I thought of characters I wanted to adapt for my series (Him and Sal--Sal won't appear in my story, but I want to put my own spin on him one day, perhaps for a livestream.)

The specific context of this artwork, the object Trine is holding is the golden walnut, a very significant thing to him and Tri-Tip (both in canon and in my story--although it won't be utilized as much) but he is shown in a casual park-ish environment. Sometimes I forget that the story takes place in fall (late September-October of the year 2020, but obviously taking place in Skylands) so I wanted to show some of that fall... weather. I'm a bit surprised that I didn't add rain to this considering that's what I love most about that season--the return of the rain after a dreaded hot summer! But no, I just have a semi-cloudy sky. And fallen leaves from multiple trees. Uses the same stone walkway texture I use constantly, usually for flooring, or water. But I have used it for scales and such. Ironically, the texture was made for giraffes! Ah..

You know, the ironic thing about being able to post this today, is that the NFC card of Tri-Tip I mentioned ordering in the past finally arrived! (NFC cards being cards loaded with chips containing skylanders-data, so when you place them on the portal they function like a Skylanders toy) since Tri-Tip will be appearing in my story it's good to get that feel for the character in-game. I don't actually own a complete collection of the characters who appear in my story! Or items, I suppose. I don't actually have the jet stream toy despite it appearing in chapter two, for example. (If I did I probably would have drawn it--shame, Jet-Vac only appeared in one post so far).

This art takes place during chapter eleven. Trine goes elsewhere and.... as the title suggest, is thinking to himself. This is over the events of the tenth chapter, if you haven't read that yet I'll leave that to your imagination, I suppose.

That's all I have to say for this post, really! I had planned to write more but it had too much overlap with a future chapter in my fanfiction. Also, I don't like to discuss spoilers in my post. (Even though most people are unlikely to read the story, which Is completely justified the fanfic is very long) BUT, as I said earlier it's good to talk about other characters used in my story--if you have any characters you enjoy that appear in my story (wether it be an OC of mine or an adaptation of an official character) feel free to let me know! I have some ideas for a few of them still!
