"Miss Vaanjie.... Miss Vaaaaaanjiee...... Miss... Vanjie!" Has been playing in my head on repeat for the last month. Painting her was my attempt to relieve some of that. It has not helped. Please save me. I have a serious illness and it's called loving Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. Who I desperately need to see more of. I hope she either ends up on All Stars 4 or gets Shangela'd and comes back on season 11. This was a lot of fun, so I might actually end up doing drawings or painting of some of my other favorite RuPaul's Drag Race girls.

I've realized that my inking pens don't bleed with watercolors and let me tell you: it is the discovery of the century. Though, it's something I should've considered earlier, as one of my art inspirations has been the gorgeous box art on the last few tales games, which is comprised of... delicate lineart and soft watercolors. Kind of an oversight on my part to not have really considered that that's a style that I could attempt, tbh. This painting was done to play with that, and to mess with mixing colors, as that's something I've mostly shied away from so far. Note to self: stop putting down colors so dark and stop tryna mix things with white unless you're going for a cel-shaded look. It makes the colors spread extremely evenly wherever I put them down which is cool for certain things, but it also makes them not blend well. I love this though. And the silver gel pen all over this really brings it to life, I think. The scanner doesn't do it justice.
