I don't like being confrontational, but I have some issues with this. Mostly, you're trivializing the marginalization of LGBT people by including them in a list that includes starwars fans, trolls, Kanye West, and 'orient'. I think Lebanon is the only one of those that could be justified, due to it's recent conflicts. "Troll" is often a badge worn proudly by people who harass others on basis of race or sexuality, too! You also put it in a group called #InjuriesAreSexy ? A piece about the pain marginalized groups have to go through, and you put it in a group that fetishizes pain?

The list is One part reality, one part Lady Gaga "Born this way" lyrics, and one part my sense of humor. My humor is dark, twisted, sometimes only hilarious to me and what keeps me from actually going into a rage filled homicidal spree against humanity.
As far as the group goes, I did not seek to put my piece anywhere other than LGBT groups. I accepted all who sought this piece out because, well my message was about not discriminating XD, and no matter what labels are put on it to get viewers to the piece, the intended message is still there for all to see and hopefully accept, and I feel that the message is still credible to the cause. Although, I do see your point on that particular group.
PS: Thank you for feeling confrontational today because I kinda love your art.

Oh yeah, say there was a piece of yours that I wanted in say like a steam punk group I go to, i could submit your piece and both you and the group would have to approve, or if a mod of the group submits your piece, you just have to accept or deny.
*nod nod* I see where you're coming from and I'll absolutely think on it.
Thanks so much!

we're all remotely the same on the inside, if you peel back flesh and muscle.
at first glance, that's how i saw this piece and then i got a closer look...
it blows my mind to how cruel and narrow-minded some people are. but i guess, like you said, You may not like the lives they live, but it's not your decision to make. ignorance can be some people's decision, but it shouldn't be mine.

This is wonderful, you've express your feelings so well. It is sad that this world is into kicking people down because of gender and or difference. There are so many fractured souls out there. I hope in your art you have found a way to be right with yourself.

I def see alot here. Im just not sure as a trans Im able to see all the subtle hints to the ntention.
When I firstpeered over I thought it was a more general emotional piece and not to specific about the seperation flesh and bone.So when I read your discription I tried lookin for any subtle notes of it in the picture and came up with scraps really.
Maybe the lagest of which is the message of trapped ina body being all sewed up like that def represents being trapped in the social requirments of your body.

First off thank you SO MUCH for your comment and prepare yourself for a read. XD
As it is an outside perspective looking in on the issue I can merely sympathize with the social scrutiny rather than empathize. I'm actually hoping to get a lot of input from the LGBT community to better this piece, because as of now it really only tells one persons struggle and comments made about her.
The jist of the piece from my point of view is that The 'what' doesn't matter as much as the 'who.' The heart represents that 'who' for me. Fragile as the heart is, offering yourself to the world as you truly feel in your soul of souls, your heart will either be accepted or crushed...in most cases both will happen. The latter more than the former, sadly. When a person 'comes out' there is that raw frightened uncertainty of either impending doom or acceptance. You can't get any more naked than revealing the true fiber of your very being. The stitches are literal. There were comments made towards someone about "Sewing on some tits and chopping off your dick" and they couldn't seem to look past that. It disgusted me to hear such things when I could see what silent agony this person held in their eyes, yet the brave persona they put on to face the world, even though the world does not understand and is unaccepting of them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is one individual in my life who is a transitioning transsexual. As Jim, he did everything he could to be "Manly," joined the military, bought a giant pick up truck and even awkwardly punched walls when he was upset. I was always very uncomfortable around him because his level of awkwardness wasn't even classifiable, and I KNOW some awkward people. My red flags were going off because he was becoming one of those people you see on the news after they gun down 20 people and then shoot themselves.
Come to find out he was having gender identity issues, I had no idea what that even meant at the time. He let all of his friends know that he was going to no longer be Jim but Sarah, and suddenly all of his friends wanted nothing to do with him. They were so uncomfortable with this change that they didn't even want to hear his name. I heard comments like "If he wanted some tits to grab on to why didn't he just get a girlfriend, or hell if he's gay he could just date a fat dude, cause look, I have great tits and I didn't have to buy them," or "Look, if he wants to chop off his dick and sew on some tits, whatever, I just don't want anything to do with him, I don't even want to talk about him/Her/shim/it."
Some comments were even worse than that. These are friends that Jim and I shared even, and I couldn't BELIEVE the condescending behavior.
Then, after the hormone therapy had started, we were alone together one night at work and we just started talking. Sarah is one of the sweetest and most charismatic people I know and I'm now proud to call her my friend. She has the most HORRIBLE fashion sense and doesn't know how to choose what colors to clothe her body in. She's a pink girl, but she needs to stick with jewel tones because she looks like a naked mole rat when she starts pulling out the pinks. XD
I'm a costume designer and I've been helping her choose fabrics and patterns of dresses that really accentuate her form and try to help with hair and make-up tips whenever I can.
I'm the only one who truly embraced her at the place we work and that's because I see she is more the person, more comfortable in her skin and confident as Sarah, than she ever was as Jim.
OMG you're socially fucked. No, I can accept if you're one or the other, but to be both is truly asinine. You must choose, and to see that you're randomly adding troll to your list, you've gone overboard.
I give you the woman of your dreams, a light saber, and another comment to troll, the choice is now yours on how to proceed.
I love the image and the message behind this. It's a great way to show your feelings on the subject, and I think it's very well deserving of a DD. Anyone who thinks otherwise should be politely urged to close their piehole lest the ignorance spew forth without restraint.
Your artist comments also made me smile. Invisible ball sack. Haha!
I like you. I said it and I'm glad.
I've yet to get hate on this DD, but when I have been fortunate to receive Double Ds in the past, oooh wee are there some jealous trolls out there with their bottom lip just wibbling away.
Call my invisible ball sack a preemptive strike if you will. Actually, I do need to name them. Preemptive strike isn't my first choice. Chuck is. Chuck my invisible ball sack. Apparently all ball sacks named Chuck belong to MR. Norris, so if you have any suggestions, I'd gladly hear them out. <3
Thanks so much for the comment!
Hehe, well I like you too x}
Yeah, I've seen hate on DDs before. Including someone saying "Why is this art? What I do is so much better. Why not give me a DD? *linkage* Look, that's so much better! Blah blah whine blah" which I thought was entirely inappropriate, selfish and unfair to the artist.
I mean, really.
Glad there's been none on this image, and I hope there won't be.
Lawl, Chuck. I wouldn't get on Mr. Norris' bad side by claiming said name so... maybe Ibby? Like a variation of the initials IBS. Invisible Ball Sack. Hehe, I dunno xD
And y'welcome!
I have to support my brothers from other mothers and my sisters from other misters. While I'm not a member of the LGBT community, I'm the person holding the rainbow flag proudly and ready to beat people like the Westboro Baptist Church (which I have) over the head with my giant flaming rainbow stick, telling them "Go Sell your crazy somewhere else, we're all stocked up here!"
