Description First part was erased for several resonses

This is one rose for... goddam... whoever is willing to take it

Ok people. This took 12 hours. PhotoshopCS4 + Wacom Intuos 4. Comment if you like, you can dl it but you cant steal it and stuff like that, you know the rules

Very pretty! It's a good start. I would still say to work on contrast, as the rose could stand out/ be more vibrant than it is. Otherwise, it's a nice painting. I'm sure your special someone liked it~ C: I see improvement in each painting you post. Well done!

Uhh I understand what you are talking about hmm a darker color for background wouldve been better?

You are very welcome! It really helps with defining values, and seeing whether the focus of your picture is strong or not.

Just that the stronger values will make a certain area of your painting stand out against the rest, and become the 'focus' or the place where people will look the most. This is a basic tutorial that explains sort of the process in regards to cell shading [link] This image might help you understand how useful it is creating lifelike lighting and contrast [link]

It is sort of finding a way to balance your lights and darks with an effective result.

The first one was a real eye opener for me... couldnt find the second one because both links didnt worked.
