Misty herself looks very good, but the background feels... washed out? I feel like you would have been better off if the BG shadows had been a little more dramatic. The cream and pink ink feels really dull (is there a bluish overlay, or are the inks slightly transparent?), especially in comparison to Misty's bright palette. Hope this helps in figuring out why it didn't turn out like you wanted it to.

i know what you mean about the background, haha. i think i was so exhausted at that point that i did whatever, which... ive been guilty of doing before, admittedly, because i just want to get the drawing done, and i know i shouldnt do that. orz
but yeah, there is actually a blue overlay on the background, haha. i kind of felt as though misty didnt stand out enough and just sort of blended into the image otherwise, seeing as she herself has an almost entirely pink and yellow colour palette

I see what you mean. Originally on that Najarala piece of mine, I was going to do a whole forest, but then I was like "nah, I don't have time for this" and did an abstract thing instead.
Personally, I think Misty's black lineart makes her stand out pretty well, but I wouldn't be sure unless I saw it without the blue overlay (i'm not demanding that you do more work; I swear
