"I'll keep Mother and Claudia safe...I promise."

I've mentioned before that I've never really been very emotionally attached to the characters in the Assassin's Creed series. And then just a few days ago a realization hit me rather hard: Ezio was 17 when everything first happened to him. He was my age. And I suddenly remembered his first reaction. It wasn't "I need to kill whoever was responsible" it was "I need to get what's left of my family out of this safely"

So, if you haven't guess what this is already, it's right after the Auditore Family's execution. Ezio just buried his father and brothers.

~ 5/6 hours (About a full hour of which was spent struggling over drawing the bane of my artist existence: hands. I don't know why they gave me so much trouble this time especially)

Drawing this after so much Okami art was really jarring. I had a lot of difficulty working with such thin lines but they look so much nicer when they're thin (I love doubleleaf's style and I guess I might be unconsciously trying to emulate her)

Had to reshade this entire thing after I realized with the fog I wouldn't have very sharp shadows. But then it kind looks like I didn't shade it much at all. Bleh. I still need to work on that.
