Aya is afraid of the dark, and Ian is afraid of pain. This ends up manifesting as the two of them being lost in dark oblivion, before a shadowy version of the Demon (formed from Ian's memories of the horrific events from their last case) attacks the two of them from within the darkness. Ian is nearly killed (rolled a 2), before Aya bravely fights it off (rolled a 19) and breaks them out from the nightmare!I wanted to write some cool story here, but I dunno how to right now - so maybe I'll edit it in later. Anyway, Ian only really saw that photograph of the silhouette of the Demon. But this ended up working well with Aya's fear of the darkness, since the murky form of the Demon's silhouette blended into the shadows and contributed to the dark atmosphere.
For Ian, this was a thoroughly unpleasant experience, as he legitimately thought he was getting pummeled and then going to die. He leaves the trial room rather shaken up.

Nothing is quiet as scary as the dark than can cause pain. :/ But Ian and Aya can do it! I believe in them!
I do love how the glow from Aya's blade reflects off the oily surface of the skeleton's arm. Actually, I love the glow of the blade because it acts like a beacon in the dark.
