I like the background and how it's just sort of simple, which makes it more fun and more focus goes to the character.

lol, that's cuz I used a watercolor filter for the lineart on photoshop XD
The background was really simple to make, lemme try to explain:
1.get a texture (in this case it's the checkered bg)
2.open up the texture on photoshop
3.make a new layer
4.make the new layer's setting "multiply"
5.do a gradient on the new layer(in this case it's dark blue to light blue)
6.Then you have a background ^w^

No, I haven't tried Muro yet. It looks cool, but not a replacement for a real paint program

That's why I like SAI so much, it's so simple looking. But you can do a lot more cool things on photoshop
