Description

DETAILS
some are born great,
some achieve greatness,
and some have greatness
thrust upon them

MUSE: various inspirational quotes, and a boy named Aiden
TIME APPROX: four and a half hours + various touch-ups later
REFLECTION: If you haven't yet learned by now, I'm a member on a fun game called horsephenomena . And while perusing various accounts yesterday, I came across someone having a layout contest in dedication to a little boy named Aiden. Aiden was recently diagnosed with Leukemia, and at an age where all he should be worrying about is transformers or legos, he's now facing something I can't even begin to comprehend. The requirements for the contest were few, but powerful, and will be added if need be. However, the two that I incorporated into this piece specifically is the color gold, for children's cancer (hence the palomino) and the cancer ribbon, which is 'branded' onto the horse's hindquarters. I really hope that people can be touched by this piece as Aiden's story touched me. This one goes out to everyone who might have had cancer impact their life. Unlike other reflections on my pieces, this is all I have to say, nothing about the details, or the work, or how I feel, because in the end this piece doesn't belong to me, it belongs to him.
