Description SPC Michael Alexander and SPC Brianna Saville both of the 982nd Combat Camera Company (Airborne) train on MOUT and photographing MOUT on November 16, 2013 on Fort Jackson, SC. During Mout Training, soldiers practice clearing rooms and looking for enemies.

This photograph caused some problems on my Facebook page, where someone called SPC Alexander a POG, and my entire unit POGS.  I've never had to ban someone before, I'm so pissed I'm shaking.  We are not POGs.  We are called COMBAT CAMERA for a reason.

My Army imagery is free use, however I ask that you please use it respectfully.  Respectful to me, the people in it, and the US Army.

Great shot!   Capture, I mean.  Although, this picture does emphasize the correlation between the 2 different definitions of "shot" very well, and what they mean to the military

In all honesty, that never even crossed my mind!    Thanks for pointing that out to me.

While someone might want to try to call the entire membership of my WAARNG unit Co G 181 Supt BN POGs... DON'T. We support an FA Bn. We know how to mix it up and we have plenty of organic firepower.
Your fellow combat cameramen are soldiers just like you and me. It's just that your primary weapon is a camera. Mine is a toolbox. We all contribute to winning the fight. The losers calling you POGs are simply haters who don't properly understand your contribution.

Thank you.  That made me feel better.  I've never been so mad before, and it hurt even more because it was someone I knew in real life calling myself and my unit POGs.  When we deploy, we fight if necessary.  We carry both a camera and a weapon.  just ugh.

Well, we actually carry both when deployed.

Your first job is to take pictures of others doing stuff.  If you're using your weapon, it is a very bad day for all involved.

I agree, still I think I'd rather risk it vs being put behind a desk... or worse actually doing public affairs.

I have a similar job to Cheslah, though she gets to take more photos.  I write more and handle civilian media.

And POG, POGS?

Derogatory term meaning "people other than grunts". It basically comes around when an Infantry or other combat arms MOS gets on a high-horse. Rather irritating to say the least.
