You know, it would have been more fun if I had done this for Valentine's day. Anyway, these are my favorite cartoon couples of all time. The reason they are in pixels is because a while back, I used Gambit and Rogue as a test subject for pixelling (OMG AND NOT IN MSPAINT) and then after talking with *LovelyLocks a bit about it, I decided I should do my other all-time favorite couples in pixel as well. No time for full-bodiedness, and besides, the original two weren't full-bodied either so it keeps things even. I also used dodge and other non-traditional pixel methods in this picture, so I'm afraid you'll just have to find a way to deal with that.

First up, we have Wheeler and Linka from Captain Planet. Everyone knows how much I adore them. They were the only reason I watched Captain Planet in the first place.

Second couple is Zelda and Link, who bear striking similarities to Wheeler and Linka in many respects. The personalities and even voices are really similar. And I'm sure it helps that Dic did both series (until Hanna-Barbera came along and totally SCREWED CAPTAIN PLANET UP but that's another rant for another time). If you never saw this cartoon when it was on in the late '80s/early '90s, you really missed out! I used to draw Zelda all the time as a kid, not to mention I was smitten with her ultra-cool outfit.

Third, we have Gambit and Rogue from X-Men. The dynamic between those two gives me shudders even today! The whole "you can't touch me" thing Rogue had going on really appealed to me, because I was young and had never been kissed before, so it was something I identified with a bit. Besides, Gambit was totally hot for cartoon character.

And my favorite couple of all time is totally Spoon and Fork! They belong together.
