I ran across a trio of ImagineFX tutorial books in a bookstore yesterday and flipped through them. The one for manga had this gorgeous illustration in it and greatly influenced my decision to purchase the book. Great job! I absolutely love the lighting effects and hope to put your examples to good use.

Very good but, the plane with glowing runes seems not right to me. With the way spear is positioned one would assume blade is pointing further back in space and the plane emitting runes would be perpendicular to the spear blade. With that assumption the plane with runes should be flipped. I wonder if anyone else is seeing it same way.

It's not very often I can, without a doubt, say that every piece of this work is awesome. I honestly find something new to look at with each blink. The lighting, the atmosphere, the character, and the movement all corresponds perfectly, not to say there's not a million other things I could be equally praising in this picture! It's really amazing to me and I love it more with each glance
