So, I went to Hawaii to visit my brother this summer, and because I was home alone, bored a lot, I took up drawing again. This was done back in June, but I just colored it recently. This is meant to be a sort of realistic Ariel from the Little Mermaid. When I draw mermaids, I like to base them on real fish, so given her location, most likely Denmark, where Hans Christian Anderson is from, I made her a European Perch, which are native to the Baltic Sea. Because Ariel has red hair, I made her a ginger, freckles and all. Unfortunately my scanner screwed with the coloring a bit so it looks a lot more red than it is. Her shell bra is not exactly purple per se, because I was trying to go for realistic colors. I couldn't find shells that were naturally lavender or purple, the closest I found was mauve, which is what color her bra is here. Again, the colors are a bit off because of my scanner. I dunno, hopefully it reminds you of Ariel somewhat.

And, this ends my hiatus! It's been ages since I've been on. There really wasn't any good reason why I was gone, I guess I just didn't have any good art to upload. After that we went to Bangladesh for a month, so my notifications built up a lot and I just didn't want to deal with that so I wasn't on for that as well. And being in Bangladesh, with no internet, just took me out of the habit of checking DA often so I just stopped coming on as much. So there is a short explanation.
