Later when the team is formed to go after Sasuke Uchiha, she accompanies them and gets almost as far as Sasuke himself. However she is stopped by a literal sword to the gut from none other than Sasuke himself. When she wakes a week later in the hospital, everyone has left on their separate training assignments.

Feeling abandoned, Ame leaves the village and doesn’t look back.
• Ages 14-16 : After six months abroad, Ame’s growth as a shinobi is relatively unknown. She is hired by the Akatsuki as a mercenary based mainly on her being a Kitsune, which proves to have been a good move for them.

Despite attempts to keep interactions with the Akatsuki to impersonal, Ame finds herself soon pulled into their world and ragtag family. Though never officially leaving her village, or publicly committing provable treason, Ame does very little to show any support to her former residence. Instead she devotes her time to her newfound family and specifically her most common partners, Sasori and Deidara.

When the Akatsuki is killed, Ame finds herself once more alone and unable to really cope with the sudden loss. She goes into hiding for a few months.
• Ages 16-17 : Ame returns to Konohagakure a good deal different than she left. Though technically still a citizen and registered Shinobi, Ame is considered more of a wild card than anything else. An affiliate. At this point Tsunade knows better than to try to cross her, but knowing of her time spent with the Akatsuki and the likely grudge she holds makes it difficult to trust her.

Though her motives are unclear, as is her new level of strength, she is considered an ally based solely on her hatred of the living Uchihas. Specifically Obito and Sasuke.

It is incredibly likely she is plotting something related to the proper revival of the Akatsuki, though what exactly, no one is sure...

• Ame and I share the same birthday. Why? Because my birthday is awesome, that’s why.
• Kitsune surnames are combinations of the Kitsune’s clan name and the spouse’s name. Kitsune no Tsuki, Kuroshi; Kurotsuki.
• On a side note, Kitsune and kitsune are two different things. Ame's a yokai, Kurama's a demon. Just so you don't get confused.
