I had a dog which resembled this one very closely. We had to put him to sleep because he had many tumours and was living in agony.

Lovely, girl wish my own was all black too. My own black GSD Sasha has a small white spot on her chest and some tan between her toes and strips of tan on the back of her front legs. Her breeder said the white spot would go away as she got older. It didn't and suddenly she started showing tan as well. But she is till registered as black with the AKC. XD

She is a pure german shepherd dog, from german working line... Solid black is a color allowed from the breed standard, even if no common to see

Wait, so like could i find a German shepherd dominant mix that has solid black fur or is it only for pure breeds? and another thing, i'm not sure if i should get a pure or a mutt because my mom says they have a mean streak but i'm not sure. what do you think?

I have seen a mix like that once, it was very similar to the german shepherd, but I don't know what kind of cross was... However the solid black is recessive in the german shepherd, so solid black puppies only have birth from two black dogs or carriers of the gene... I don't know if solid black is recessive in all the breeds. I've not understand what you mean for mean streak (I was not so good at english at school

By mean streak i mean like they are always mean and not nice for no reason. it's an expression. and, do you think that a pure bred german shepherd would have a mean streak regardless of who's the owner or would its behavior depend on who the owner is?
