It was raining, not completely normal here in Florida. The down pour wasn’t that bad, but it was somewhat funny to see all of the people scatter when it started like they couldn’t see what was coming with the sky being a gloomy grey ever since dawn. Everyone seemed to follow the environments choice of colors with every one dressed head to toe in grays and blacks. Except for the occasional five year old dressed up in a pink “Dora the Explorer” rain coat. As I looked around while walking back home, by accident I collided with someone. Looking up to check who it was, I made the observation that he was pleased as his entire face frowned and he dusted himself off while he held a cell-phone between his ear and shoulder. “Watch where you’re going, douche bag!” he hissed and stormed off, not giving me the chance to apologize. I sighed. Maybe by tomorrow everything will clear up and things will be better and everyone will be happier. Or at least be less rude.

After I got closer to home I caught sight of a young girl, dressed up in a frilly pink dress and flats, the entire outfit had bows scattered yet well placed. She clenched the corners of her dress with gloved hands keeping it from swaying to and fro while she searched her surroundings frantically as if she was terrified or completely lost. Most likely; both. The weirdest thing of it all was that she appeared to have pink ears and tail to accompany them. Either I must be seeing things or there was a convention that I was not made aware of. After much inner debate, I started to approach her. I put my umbrella over her, knowing that these cosplay things were expensive, and she apparently didn’t know where to go to hide from the rain, so she wouldn’t be yelled at. “Here, you might want to stay out of the rain.” When she realized the rain stopped hitting her she looked up to the cover of the umbrella then to me. I must have scared her, for she jumped away, or it might be some random stranger came up and protected her from the rain. Fear still showed in her eyes, well actually she was shaking plus the horrified look. “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to frighten you. You just seemed lost and this seemed like the right thing to do, and I thought I could help if you were lost.” I started to ramble, this was going nowhere. That’s great. Just, lovely.
“No. Its fine, thank you.” She mumbled, straightening herself out. “I am lost after all.” The girl declared with what seemed like pride. I knew I looked confused; she was acting kind of strange. “Mind telling me where I am mister? That is if it’s not too much trouble.” She added with a smile. Seriously? She didn’t know where she was?
“Like the street?” I questioned just to make sure
“No. Where I am in general. Like what area, or region. You know that kind of thing.” Her voice chimed innocently. You have got to be kidding me. This is ridiculous. I sighed once more
“You’re in a magical place called: ‘Florida’ ever heard of it?” I said with slight venom. She frowned of course but it was a quick one that she didn’t put much effort into.
“No, I have not mister sass.” She laughed “I’m Alice by the way, Alice Pink.” She gave a smirk with her name, as I personally tried not to question her last name. “And yours?” she questioned, I had forgotten to say my name as a response
“Oh, uh. My name?” I stuttered “Um, my name is Emile. It’s a pleasure to met you.” I gave a smile with my introduction
