A little story behind this. I wanted to do another Sonic print for Baltimore and New York comic con but I couldn't come up with anything. I've been stressing about my new job and a lot of things and the frustration of not coming up with anything and the time for the convention was coming closer drove almost to the point of tearsΒ and then this song comes on my iPod: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKh-P6β¦
The video for it is sad, but I dunno I was overcome with this feeling of relief and then I imagined the Freedom Fighters having that same sort of "it's hard, but it's going to get better" feeling.
I dunno I hope that comes across. XD I'm rambling now.
What are they looking at exactly??? Maybe a rainbow????

Sorry Archie lost the rights to Sonic in 2017, but it is moving to IDW in 2018 and I hope Sally Acorn stays.

It's not official by Sega and IDW yet, they still have the Stay Tuned statement since October 2017, Sally and the Freedom Fighters still have a chance! The SX convention in March will have a Sonic panel in March 2018 to determine the Freedom Fighter IDW fate.

ah the characters from the old cartoon. Too bad they ended it so poorly. After Eggman was defeated his evil spell should have been broken, the people of the city derobotizised and Sally crowned queen.
The story could then end with her, making Sonny an official knight of the realm with one mission, finding her father.
Ps. I don't recognise that black and brown character to the right.

No he would never be king, but if he ended up marrying her, he would become Prince-consort.
However the reason why I say Knight, is because I don't really got the vibe that Sonic was serious enough to actually pursue a romantic relationship with Sally Acorn. And I also simply cannot see him as the kind of guy that would be willing to stand still next to his Lady-in-command.
A knight of the realm however would be just him.

I'm absolutely smitten with this portrayal of the Freedom Fighters, Jen. I didn't even know you had a part in the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie comic illustrations until yesterday. Hopefully you'll get a chance to execute your artistic talent in later issues.^^

I don't know if your picture conveys the emotion you where feeling, but it comes off as inspirational none the less. It feels like the team is ready for whatever comes at them, but not so much that it's aggressive. like enjoy the clam before the storm. Not to mention it's hard to find any cool merchandise of the FF, especially ones that feature them so pre-dominantly and with their new look, so that's a big plus. Excellent for references and just showing some Archie love.
All your hard work was worth the beautiful end result, which made it worth buying at NYCC 2015. Big thanks again for looking at my portfolio and the poster. It was great meeting you and good luck with your work!
