"The Brenner Personal Defense Weapon line is designed for those who want to pack the firepower of a Light Weight Machine Gun in a compact package. With a collapsible buttstock and a shortened barrel shroud that can support both standard-length and assault-length barrels, the Brenner PDW line is more akin to a heavyweight SBR on steroids--perfect for clearing out chokepoints in CQB (If you can handle a so-called 'PDW' that weighs almost as much as a full-length GPMG that is)~!

Back to small arms~! >u<
Had spent the time between my last post and now planning how I'm gonna wrap up the Brenner Rebuild Project and right now, I've crossed a significant milestone in said project--the Brenner PDW line finally has a feasible collapsible stock to use.
The idea for the current collapsible stock came after I came across an InRangeTV video where we finally see Ian run a G3 rifle that he actually likes. The stock that inspired this rebuild of the PDW line was the Spuhr collapsible stock for the G3, which solves the problem of the G3's long length of pull. Sadly I could not find the Sphur stock in XNA/XPS, let alone MMD, so I opted for the next best thing--a collapsible stock not unlike that found on AR platforms.
The collapsible stock solves the Brenner's length of pull issues just like it does the G3 and as such , the Brenner PDW line can now be fired using a squared stance, which is more optimal for automatic fire from the shoulder as opposed to a bladed stance. This would fit in well with Taeko's and crew's roles as they're expected to operate in rifleman, designated marksmen, and automatic riflemen roles in open and CQB environments alike--in short order no less.
(Incidentally the USMC's adoption of the M27 IAR as a potential 'all-around rifle' that can handle automatic and designated riflemen roles in addition to serving as a standard rifle reminded me alot of what I'm trying to do with the Brenner line--only that the IAR is actually practical for peeps to use whereas the Brenners were made for use by oto-operators and associates in mind. Have to applaud the USMC for going this route. OuO )
It should be noted that the stock cannot collapse all the way as it would on a G3. This stems from the Brenner PDW--along with other Brenner lines--using a HK21E-length buffer as opposed to a G3 length one. On top of that, the way the collapsible stock is set up is such that the use of an optic is almost necessary as the stock has to be in-line with the barrel.
Other changes include fixing the UV mapping of the forward grips and the barrel removal handle and moving the forward grips back to the 'collar' of the barrel shroud which can support the mounting of said forward grips in the 5, 6, and 7 o'clock positions. I still have to add a carrying handle to the thing and apply consistency fixes to the other Brenners before the Rebuild project is done and then comes finding a 100-round capacity soft ammo pouch for the belt-fed Brenners. I'm also considering outfitting full-length Brenners with the same stock for those like Jack and Shiho who tend to operate in designated marksmen roles and Mayumi who actually uses her Brenner off of its bipod in GPMG roles (compared to Taeko and Yukina, who are effectively the team's riflemen).
And that's what I've got for today. OuO
