Looking up at the dim sky,I never realized how vast it was
'till we parted at dawn
you took my hand and dropped it.
I looked up towards the sky,
At the constellations,
All the stellar wishes we held dear,
Now lost in the sky again.
I sit outside waiting for you,
The North Star is shining more brightly
than we saw before.
I still smell the scent of fireworks popping
as I relive that moment
when we kissed as 2011 rolled in.
Your eyes and tone tells me a lie
I don't want to hear,
I close my ears and let fireworks dissipate all words
you say and tell me
as another tear escapes my eye,
I hear your voice telling me to be happy
as I want to sit and cry.
I look towards the sky for an answer to why
Why the sky is getting so dim?
As another day passes by,
You tell me to be happy;
You stand there with lies I can't see,
You sounded so confused when I saw you,
Handing my book and saying you'll talk to me soon.
I sit outside the porch looking out again,
I hear the fireworks blowing silently
Through the sky as I relive the moments
of last year,
You took my hand and placed a note,
Saying this year will be different;
Now we stand two worlds apart,
Nothing will ever form in between
as the stars become more dimmer.
You tell me to move on,
Be happy and let you go;
You never told me how much it hurts
as I pass by all our memories in life.
The sky is becoming more dim each day,
The North Star is becoming non-existent
as I push your face towards the moon;
Maybe there will be one day where
I can look past the stars twinkling in the sky
and wish upon another shooting star.
