Funny story, this image has been sitting on my hard drive for something like 4 months now. Unfinished mind you, I sketched it months ago when I started watching "Digimon Adventure" on Netflix. The Japanese dub to be exact. I lost a bit of faith in it halfway, plus I got a new laptop, so it got stuck in sketch limbo for a while

One of the subtle angles the dub kind of does away with in the anime is how Sora and Biyomon actually bond. At first Sora feels slightly embarrassed to have a Digimon like Biyomon who openly shows her affection to her partner, she also considers her Digimon to be sort of weak and fears for her safety. Hearing Biyomon talk to the Yokomon, she learns why the kids Digimon might evolve, and that Biyomon's fondness comes from an honest place. But the idea of letting Biyomon fight still bothers her.

Yet when Meramon comes charging down the mountain, Biyomon risks her safety to protect the Yokomon, and ultimately out of love practically summons the power to digivolve just to protect Sora despite all that.

No wonder it would turn out later on that Sora's Crest was the crest of love. She learns from her experience in the digital world that love is much more than affection, and how powerful it can be. Without Sora's love and care for the rest of the team, they may of remained divided.

All the same, this seemed like the perfect upload for valentines this year. Love isn't just about couples, romantic meals and the like. We love family, parents, friends and people we are close to in some form as well. So go out there, and show a little love to someone close to you today, don't just waste it moping or grouching.
