Gawd, I haven't drawn Sonic art in AGES (almost 3 years now...), and it was the first fandom that inpired me to draw in the first place.
Keep that in mind, so my anthro body style might be off. I haven't even DRAWN Rouge before!! (which may explain why I forgot she had gloves and a tail XD)Little sketchy thing that I drew a few days ago while going through some people's galleries that have sweet Sonic art. *pokes :devemmychinda: and =orin :3* I drew Julie-su first (she's my favorite female character), than added Knux and Rouge as an afterthought. It was never meant to be more than a sktech, but I like how Julie came out.
Okay, explanation: Julie-su, (the pink echinda on the right) is from the "Sonic the Hedgehog/Knuckles the Echinda" comics done by Archie. She also happens to be Knux's girlfriend in said comics and was the only romantic lead assocoiated with him for awhile....
Until SA2 and Rouge came along. Julie-su has now been pushed aside in favour of the Bat being Knuckles' main girl....which I don't like very much (no offense to Rouge or KnuxRouge fans). I simply find Julie-su's tough, brutally honest tomboy profile (which Archie toned down awhile ago *shakes fist*) to be more Knuckles' style than a coy, flirty jewel thief.
So yes, this pic is sort of about how much attention is on KnuxRouge now, and poor Julie-su is getting jealous of them (she's in denial, hence the title). Rouge knows it, and is playing on it. Knuckles just seems a little lost and doesn't really know WHAT to do.

Knuckles + Rouge = No, simply no.
With the introduction of Shade to the games, I highly doubt that Knuckles will sacrifice his race to be with a flirty bat who only wants his emerald.

Ah. I'm glad that you didn't make this piece with hate intended towards the Rouge/Knux pairing, it's nice to see peace between some pairing enthusiasts, even on a small scale. The fanwars tend to get out of hand sometimes.

Yes, but EXTREMELY distant ones. With the slowing of time in the Twilight Zone the Dark Legion was trapped in, it makes the Family Tree a little confusing to follow.
From when the family split up between the Guardians and the DL, there's about 20 generations between them genetically (16 on the Guardian side, 4 on the DL side). So I'd say there's very little real relation shared...

Well, I never hated Julie-su, I just always prefered Rouge and Knuckles being together. I think the reason is that I found out who Rouge was before I found out about Julie-su. But I like Julie-su too!!

yay go Rouge, I personally dont really like Julie-Su cause well, shes related to knuckles and she destroys the storyline (knuckles is the last echidna) It's a good picture

I'm with you on that... Personally I just don't like Rouge at all. Julie-Su would have been much more fun to see in the games/anime

You're the first one I know who has that idea besides me! Seeing her zipping around on her motorcycle thing and blasting stuff in the games and anime would have made my year. Or if they INSISTED on having Rouge, Julie-su could have been her main adversary.
Alas, SEGA would never have an SatAM character in thier games, let alone an Archie character. It'll never happen. T_T

I like your picture, and think it came out really nice. Yeah, that does seem like something that Rouge would do, taking into account her personality.
Julie-Su came out really nice too. I like the shading and highlights on her hair/dreads (?).. (sorry, I don't know much about her!)

I was hoping I caught onto Rouge's personality; never drawing her before made me a bit hesitant in that regard. Glad I did a decent job of drawing her ^^
And yeah, Julie-su has spines/dreadlocks just like Knuckles has, and extra hair on top (the pink/purple parts). The dreadlocks also have cybernetics in them, as well as the one arm (long story about those regarding her past lifestyle, which I won't bore you with).
Not too many people know about Julie-su, since the Archie comics aren't the major Sonic fandom (most prefer the games, and Sonic X since it's based off the games more), but she was a cool character, not a damsel in distress type (unfortunately, the writer's have changed her a bit lately D:< ). I always kind of compared her to a Buffy or Xena type girl. XD
