Guo Jia, the Pine Marten

Pine Martens in Redwall are a rare breed of vermin, often in ranks of high power and takes the role of adviser to wildcats. Related to the weasel, they usually don't take part in battle and are known for their cleverness and provide great military strategies as well as domestic affairs (well, as far as vermins go). There has been one Pine Marten that ruled his own land, that being Ublaz Mad Eyes in "Pearls of Lutra", where he was known for his hypnotic stare, and he was as strong as he was handsome, and he had a great love for treasure, fine silk, and wine, often lazing about with his luxuries and letting his Monitor lizards and trident rats do all the work.

And here we have Guo Jia, a relaxed man who enjoys the finer luxuries of life such as wine, women and comforts, content on fulfilling his duties to his lord (who's not a wildcat but I feel the relationship between Cao Cao and Guo Jia isn't really master to servant, but more of friendship and kinship, as though they were friends or brothers). He also hides a tragic fate that he can't escape, but is determined to live his life to the fullest. So, hence why I chose a Pine Marten for Guo Jia.

Surprisingly enough, Brian Jacques treated Pine Martens fairly well when it came to vermins, and how two out of the three that were created were second-in-commands to wildcats (another fairly treated vermin/neutral beast) makes me wonder if it was intentional... Pine Martens do have psuedo-retractable claws, like cats, so I wonder if there was a good reason for that. Guess I'll never know...
