You've sent him down a hard path. It's bad enough with the discrimination against Quarians, simply achieving their goal to contribute to the Fleet is a hard and bittersweet task. Saim needs to claw his way to the top. He can't be thrown back by the wall that's where. Being raised by a drell assassin and a captain in the turian military should give him an edge.

You sir seem to be thinking about Blasto the Spectre, who was an in-game riff on Dirty Harry. Remember that Spectre stands for, among other things, Special Tactics and Reconnaissance. However, sitting on a planet and simply watching a bad guy for weeks on end to gather details is not intriguing gameplay. Hence why Mass Effect has you as a Spectre running through herds of bad guys and shooting everyone. It is not simply because you can kill everyone. It is because you have to kill this group of bad guys in order to restore order.
So quit crapping on *chibijaime because she's depicting her character as a dreamer and chill out.
