I'd say Alain is about 16 and I see there relationship as siblings mairin being the happy cherfull little sister and Alain being the overprotective big brother who is serious all the time but still cares a lot. And find it sweet in that one episode where Alain says "I'll get stronger mairin and then I will see you smile again" d'aaaaawwww!!!

I think ash is around 14 years old(more than probably)

Amm, well all I know Ash cumlio 11 years and this was confirmed in one of the specials of the Pichu brothers, when Pikachu is separated from his group of friends and known. But it has not said anything more about it, but lso Latin American dubbing only says he still has 10 years :/

First: Where the hell says Alain has 20 years? Did you say at some point in the anime? or is in any official journal of Pokemon? If so, please show me where, otherwise it's just your appreciation for a character in an anime KODOMO (child) whether or not these specials are for a perhaps more "mature" audience, but the franchise anime remains KODOMO.
Second, that you think that in a shipping both should be in love is YOUR problem. one may simply unilateral shipping such as Amourshippin now.
Third: This relationship need not be forsosamente SEXUAL, if you believe that every relationship is based on sex, I'm afraid to say it's a shame for you.
