Good god I loved the monsters in "The Hobbit" so much!Just wanted to toss up a quick sketch of one of the goblins. I can't wait for the rest of the Hobbit series to come out. I want more! I WANT MORE NOW!

Just saw it, have to agree -- the critter designs are really, really cool. Considering how well the CG and effects from the Lord of the Rings movies are holding up overall, I thought the gobins, orcs and trolls were one place where the new movie really stood out. And Gollum stole scenes again, the little bugger.
Can't WAIT to see your take on more designs, especially the big, nasty one-handed orc...

Saw it yesterday with my wife. SO FREAKING GOOD!! Yes, yes - all the Middle Earth purists will take issues with some parts of it, but seriously, it's such a great film. I love how the dwarves help to make the movie light and enjoyable yet you still get excited when they draw their swords.

I love how all the gobblins looked deformed in someway. The trolls were also awesome.
