Description
Horse: Kumara Pie
Show: Tatra Lights Trail | Training Event OPEN
Class: Individual
Nothing makes me abandon everything else I’m working on like a Zlesdin event. How cool is this event though? Mountains, snow, twinkle lights, endurance? Sounds like the perfect event for these two wild childs <3 Also, I have never loved drawing a horse as much as I love drawing this fiery mare.
Also… who says you can’t have a wool lined Sha-dez? Stephan is a master at tack creations and sewing and these two are not all about that cold, so the outcome? A fuzzy, cozy sha-dez!
Anyways…enjoy!

Story:
(Warning: one wear word mentioned below, otherwise clean. Some mentions of mental health.)
Miru was playing a fun game with herself. She was asking herself whether the ever-present, smothering, sinking mood she was in was because of the coldness and the not-quite-enough hours of daylight or if her depression was flaring in a bad way. Or was it even both? Miru glanced over at Kumara as she walked along beside her on a loose rope through the grounds near the race’s starting area. The tall red headed mare had an equally disdainful look upon her face and was pinning her ears at every horse or person they got even remotely near. Was Kumara also feeling the cold weather slump, or was she just being her usual bitchy self? Maybe it was both for Kumara, too.
Despite them both being extra irritable, there was still the buzz of an impending race keeping them alert and focused. Kumara was used to Miru’s distracted and heavy mind and Miru was used to managing the mare’s fire; it was what made them such a great team. The most important part of their pre-race mental prep was just doing their best to avoid as many people and horses as they could. Being anti-social was certainly made easier by Miru’s resting bitch face and Kumara’s constant pinned ears. Still, the other participants did add a certain ambiance for the pair, amping them up so that by the time they headed across the start line, Kumara was on full steam ahead mode. Miru did her best to hold her back a bit, but mostly she just trusted the process. The think snow did little to slow the rampaging mare down, but the wind smacking across Miru’s face was almost unbearable so she made extra effort to slow the mare as quickly as she could.
As they traveled along at a relatively quick pace, except to slow when there was a tricky patch to navigate. Once they were apart from the others, Miru felt like she could take a breath. She wrapped her cloak up around her shoulders more snugly and shivered. Miru wondered why in the world anyone enjoyed the cold. The upside was how unbelievably quiet the world felt and how beautiful the mountains here were. The lights guided them carefully through the night and Miru felt thankful for their comfort.
