Finished version of Griffin Concept Sketch and full body version of Griffin Test Colors XD This was completed a lot quicker than I expected!

Anywho, yes this is my interpretation of Griffin from Firewing - I know it's a weird thing to do considering I haven't read that book yet but when I heard Shade and Marina had a son, I just HAD to make a cartoon design for him, so here it is finally.

As you can see, he's definitely more of a mama's boy than most fans depict him, however I tried my best to make him a decent blend between his parents. He has Marina's basic pelt colors but they're paler like Shade's, it's also worth noting that his muzzle/cheeks are the exact same color as Shade's. His mane is styled in a fashion that combines both Shade and Marina's hairstyles and the color is just a paler version of Shade's. His wing colors were derived from Marina's but dimmed down to a lighter but duller combo, another trait from his father. His eyes are also the same color as his father's but are a little deeper like his mother's.
While he has Marina's facial structure, the chin/cheek tufts are from Shade, as are the nose ridge and eye markings. Interesingly, his nose/mouth/inner ear colors are from his grandmother Ariel, but are slightly more pinkish and not quite as dark. However, I personally find the most interesting part of his design is the curvature of the ears, the "outer curve" is from Shade and the "inner curve" is from Marina and the size of the ears are medium whereas Shade has big ears and Marina has small ears - so I kinda met in the middle with that one.

Also, this doesn't really matter but I thought it would be neat to point out - for all of my Silverwing full body portraits I'll be using a black background to create a sense of consistency, as black is the color used for the character bios included in the DVD, that way it'll feel more like an "official" profile image just without the little paragraph on the side.

Well, this was a fun little project and I hope you enjoy it, meanwhile I'll have to come up with something else to take up my time as far as art goes XD
