It was but it did seem a bit ridiculous on how the writers and the show tried to paint it as this great tragic love story where Rumpelstiltskin was willing to give up his search for Bae to have a life with Cora. In which we later find about her, you would think he might have picked up on the kind of person she was.

Cora and Rumple are very interesting together, but it was certainly not true love. pretty much just lust for the power they brought each other. great edit! it looks awesome!

Not sure if it was suppose to be portrayed as true love on either side but you can tell even in some sloppy handling that whatever Rumpel felt for Cora was stronger than lust. The way the writing was portraying between them and from some of Robert Carlyle's expressions during their scenes suggested Rumpelstiltskin deeply regretted sending Cora on this dark path because he could have had a second chance for a family which was why he asked her to elope with him. With Cora I have heard she did love him, it wasn't enough to cut her heart and it seemed as though she never regretted her decision whereas in Skin Deep you can see how messed up Rumpelstiltskin became affected at realizing the kiss worked and it could have been Cora all over again. Thank you so much that I am glad you like this, I remember first post it up before the episode when the whole world was freaking out over the snippets we got regarding these two.Β

BRAIN BLEACH is what I have to say after that episode. And yet, I know I shall never forget it. The way I see it, it was more of a one sided relationship, and that Rumpelstiltskin didn't love Cora as much as the Dark One's spirit did. It was her dangerous ambition, and general "I'm better than everyone else." attitude, that drew the Dark One to her. The Dark One is cruel. Choosing someone like that to be his pawn who, frankly, reminded me of Mila just a little too much.
Still, it was hard to tell who was in power between the two of them. With Regina and Rumpel, it's easy as he's on a different level than her, both in experience and ability, but with Cora... I think she's the only magic user that could be considered his equal that we've seen thus far.

The scary thing was from the interpretation I got, the power derived from Cora rather than Rumpel. He might have saw her in the future but stated to Henry in Manhattan, the future is not given a clear view so his judgment was clouded to think the brunette with the gold gown would be his love but assumed it was going to be Cora because she saw drawn to him rather than seeing the man he had been once.

Thank you sweetie, I had to hear all my friends act like the world was coming to an end.GoldenHeart was an interesting take, at the end they would have been happy for a short time together where Rumpel might have been worse off than Skin Deep portrayed him.

Not the first time I've seen the "Miller's Daughter and Rumpelstiltskin in love" plot twist, but they played it up rather well, didn't they?

Be still my "stuck firmly in the friendship zone" Dearie heart. That episode... it makes me debate whether waiting to find a love interest in real life, to use as inspiration for Morgana's love interest, is a wise thing. All she wants is someone who loves her for herself, not her powers, her connections with the Dark One, or her body. Nor does she want someone who hates her for any of the aforementioned reasons.
Hmm... with FrankenWolf, RumBelle, and WarriorRose (my name for the MulanxAurora shipping), it wouldn't be surprising for her to have a love interest from another fairytale/mythology cycle. I was thinking of having her fall for Loki, the Norse god of mischief who, for some odd reason, was exiled to Midgard, Storybrooke to be exact, in the form of a black kitten, regaining his true form and powers only on the full and new moons of each month. But, that sounds too predictable.

I guess, but it's done so many times before. Loki falling in love with a girl on Midgard, and pairing him with Merlin's version of Morgana Pendragon/le Fay on YouTube ad nauseum I mean.
I'm at a loss for what to do next for fan fiction/poetry.

Grell's out of the question. 1. He's gay, and 2. His true love is Sebastian Michaelis/William T. Spears (I say either/or because I hate Sebastian because he beats up Grell so badly, but then again, so does Will. Sebastian already has Ciel besides, so Will's my backup in case that doesn't work out.)

Thanks for the effort, but I think I'll find something on my own. I'll probably choose an Irish name, or perhaps Persian. I am also fond of French names for men.

NO. NO. NO. Lol. At least you know he doesn't truly love her, otherwise he would've turned back into a normal man.

Yuck! I know right? And knowing how they'll come to odds with each other in the decades to come... that makes it all the more disgusting to watch. Not to mention my die-hard Dearie heart was enraged when Cora backed out of their deal. Regina was the chosen child and, whether she was Rumpel's blood child or not, Cora had promised her.

Oh I know that, I am shocked at those who honestly believe Cora was his true love never Belle. Seen The Outsider more times than I count to know that Belle is his true love not Cora and they were in the past

In my opinion, I don't love it. It just simply exists to prove a theory I formed long ago: all the women whom the Dark One falls in love with are destined for horrible tragedy!
