Having not read the book, I was going by the only thing i know which is Helena Bonham Carter's portrayal of the character, which is not pretty in a conventional sense at least.
As chillyravenart has pointed out to me this is not in line with how the character is described in the book, so my point stands somewhat, but only as far as the movies are concerned.
As far as the book goes, yes apparently I am worng.
