Chaco Canyon's Fajada Butte is complimented by early morning sunrise light and desert playa. This immense piece of tenth century sandstone, which towers 442 feet above the canyon ground was used by the early Chacoan people as a figure to read the harvesting/ planting seasons and record time's passage.

"The top of the butte is the site of the famous Sun Dagger. Fajada Butte contains the well-known three slabs and spiral petroglyphs which mark the cycles of both sun and moon.Three large stone slabs weighing thousands of pounds were precisely positioned by the Anasazi against a rock wall in such a way as to project beams of light in precise patterns onto a pair of petroglyphs during solstices and equinoxes." - Paragraphs Source, Colorado.Edu

I'd say just a bit off the bottom but a solid butte shot

Interesting read - and a familiar sight. The desert! Love the texture of the ground. Great shot Justin.

very nicely done bro.
Little distracting bush that gets cut off
is actually a benefit in this image. Normally
the eyes go for the the thirds...(rule)... but
as your eyes follow the vegetation running to the right
a big beautiful monument is presented high front and center.
Adorned by a rainbow-esque lower sky that is also found here
in LA

I was waiting for somebody to mention the bush... I'm glad that you think it strengthens the image.
I hope your doing well dude, I appreciate your comments.
