Oh my god it is not a Lombax or a Shapeshifter or a robot? YES! This is Not RaC-related! It's Mass Effect /o/So what's the occasion? Well, this is for my Commander ParagadeShep because she is awesome and I am terrible and this is the most belated birthday/ZANKYOU present EVER, but... WELL. Her birthday is in May... XD... I am late.
Oh Thaaaaaane - he's so difficult to draw and paint XD I hate green. Green is the color I mostly evade like fire does with water. Green and I don't mix. You could say green is my painting-kryptonite! Sadly, though, Thane is both my commander's and my favorite character in ME XDD So I will have to learn to bear with it!
Either way. First time painting/drawing Thane. XD It's better than feared, but not where I want it to be. Maybe he'll make me overcome my weakness! /o/

And you say green is your kriptonite? If that's true, then I can scarcely imagine what you can do with the other colors!
This looks amazing! The colors are the best part of it. The saturation of the colors, the use of highlights to note the shininess of his skin, the smooth contrast of the shading, all mold in together to make this a particularly lively piece of work.
Let me note that seeing such a colorfully lively depiction of Thane is a breath of fresh air. It is a nice and very welcome change. The way Thane was handled in ME3 has left a sour and depressing feeling on many of his fans, and that has colored our art pieces of him. It's good to be able to take a step back from that ambiance every once in a while, and remember this lovely character as I'm sure he would have liked to be remembered: alive.
(Or perhaps I just have very selective memory and seem to remember the sad Thane fanart more. Either way, I still incredibly love and appreciate your your very colorful art style.)

I do a lot of fantastical shit things with other colors. I just naturally divert from green, and therefore need to work on that more. XD I'm more for warm colors and such, and it gets me every time.
I heard what happened to him in ME3, and I am really disheartened about it. ._. I mean, in the concept art book of the Art of the Mass Effect Universe, you can see him in the concet art of the Normandy in ME3. I don't understand why they shoved him off like that.
