I've never won anything either, aside from that one raffle.
Oh, and this contest, now. That was unexpected O.O

Yeah, Akiras style is still totally legendary for me, even twenty five years since I used to collect it issue by issue. I didnt just mean the style, your image looks like its intended for an older audience - I know there's a term for that, but I cant remember which one - and Akira sprang to mind because the characters all looked as much like real people as they did an anime style.Β
Its been a few years now. Do you feel the college course benefitted you in any way other than getting qualified? I enjoyed the course and liked the staff, but Ians hatred of anime seemed pretty arbitrary, and I was always annoyed that I had to do so much cg when I want to work in traditional illustration, with photoshop as another element of mixed media.
If part of the training was for hitting deadlines I drastically failed.
I dont really draw anime, (although I'm working on some cartoons that I'll post soon, and they definitely have an anime influence), but I've become a bit of an geek, and I've been building and painting a lot of anime robots. I have three gundam and two gundam knock offs. (When I'm ready to really commit some time to rebuilding my net presence I'm going to whore my gundam for page views.)
I miss education sometimes, although my class were always so loud I struggled to get anything done, and I'm a little sad that I probably wont go back to full time education, or art college. In the mean time I'm still building my new folio, and trying to decide whether I want to freelance - (seems like a lotta stress) or put together an exhibition of some prints.
I have nothing new up because I want to release it all together. And my camera has disappeared. I dont know if its hidden in the house or if I've been pickpocketed... I hope it hasnt been stolen - it had almost my entire back catalogue of images on it, and some of them were from my early twenties, and were kinda pervy. I still have all the originals, they just werent really meant for public consumption. I look at them now and giggle that I was so desperate when I was young. *Sigh.
Anyhow, I hope you're doing well. I havent been following journals so much, so let me know if there's any big changes on the horizon.
