Just a photo study ~ I had every intention of using this pose for one of my own ideas, but there was really nothing I could come up with to match this level of class. Though I let my creative licence take over here and there, I didn't deviate much from the original photo.Model - Natalia Velez

I don't know how I missed this comment until now... For years, I've been saying Laura Dore actually looks like an angel... Like, for real... There's something so ethereal about her face and eyes... and those unearthly curves which make no sense at all, in the most wonderful ways... I should really paint her again soon.

Well, the original photographer gets credit for that.. I just repainted it as best I could

Thanks!.. I did the hair in 3 layers... bottom layer was just a solid dark brown using a marker tool... The top layer was all the lighter tan highlights. Then in between I did all the medium shades... It took a long time. I did every section of hair one at a time, first spraying it in with a thin airbrush, and tapering out the tips with a soft eraser... Just before I merged all 3, I added some final shadows and extra dark streaks to the middle layer with a smaller airbrush and color pencils. .. Final step was using a tiny soft eraser along the hair line, so it wasn't a solid line.

wow, one section of hair at time, i usually just place flat color area, add 2 medium lights/shades and then extreme lights and shades, maybe some kind of filter later lol IΔ m lazy
