“So how do you make a body anyway?” You asked, putting down your arm.
Bill laughed. “I don’t want you to make me a body. I want you,” He stuck his finger on your forehead. “To find a human so I can make a deal with him to inhabit his body.”
You gulped. You initially thought he meant that he was going to get you to make a body not basically kidnap someone. That wouldn’t be something your parents would be happy with. They’d ask you how you got in jail and you’d say “Oh, I made a deal with an illuminati Dorito demon for him to protect me from trolls and vampires and I have to kidnap him a body for him to inhabit.” No, that would surely end with you in an insane asylum. They didn’t look good in the movies so they must be bad in real life too.
“So how do you suppose, I get you a body?” You questioned sarcastically.”
You bet if he had shoulders that he would’ve shrugged. “I dunno. That’s why I made a deal with you.”
Sighing, you smacked your hand against your forehead. “And you’re meant to be the all-knowing demon?”
“Yep!”
Shaking your head, you remove your hand from your forehead so you could look at the time. It was 7:50! Wendy would be at your house in 10 minutes! “Aw crap! Bill I gotta go, I’m meeting up with Wendy.”
He rolled his eye. “You better get going but remember, I will always be watching you.” You waved goodbye before dashing towards the direction of your house.
After stumbling over the bumpy ground, you arrived at your house finally. You quickly snatched a look at your watch. You had 1 minute left until 8am. Running into your back garden by jumping over the fence, you grabbed your bike and threw it over the fence before jumping back over it yourself. Then, Wendy cycled down your road as you picked up your bike, catching your breath.
“Hey (Y/N)!” She said as she skidded to a halt. You breathed heavily. Wendy looked at you with concern. “Are you ok?”
You nodded. “Sorry, I was just out on a run.” You decided not to tell her that she made a deal with a demon. That might not come off too well.
Beginning to pedal, you set off. “Hey! Wait up!” You smiled as Wendy caught up with you, shaking her head. You slowed down and cycled behind her as she led you to the Mystery Shack which seemed like a strange place just from its name.
“Oh, it is.” You heard a voice so you squeaked and swerved slightly on your bike but before you could fall off, the bike seemed to be held up by an invisible force. “Woah! Not making my job easy, are you?” Then you noticed the yellow glow out of the corner of your eye. You quickly looked over to see Bill floating beside you.
You couldn’t say anything to him because Wendy would hear. Wait, Wendy would be able to see him!
“Don’t worry, kid! She can’t see me. Only you can.” He said nonchalantly. You remembered he could hear your thoughts so you decided to test that.
“Hey Bill, what are you doing here anyway?”
He chuckled. “Ah, you’re getting the hang of it already! Well, anyway, I’m here because I haven’t got much to do until I get my body and it’s easier to protect you when I’m by you anyway.”
You nodded, still focused on Wendy and the road before you. “I’ll look for a body later after I go home later.”
“Sure! You can hang out with Shooting Star and Pine Tree but later, your time is devoted to finding me a body.” He replied.
You raised an eyebrow. Wow, he is impatient, isn’t he?
“I heard that.”
You chuckled under your breath, glancing over at the demon whom looked like he would pout if he could.
Before you knew it, you arrived at the Mystery Shack or Mystery Hack which is what the sign read. The S must’ve fallen down. The place looked like a rundown tourist trap. With the lack of attractions other than this around here, it must make a killing. You and Wendy dropped your bikes against the wall of the shack and walked through the door.
Inside, Mr Pines was checking the cash register. “Ah, Wendy, good thing you’re here. I need to go and con some customers so you watch the till, will you?”
Wendy nodded and Mr Pines left the room. Soon after, the twins both entered the room. Mabel skipped in carrying a pig? Well, you didn’t expect a pet pig but I guess anything goes in Gravity Falls. Dipper was reading some kind of book. On the front was a hand with 6 fingers and there was a 3 in the center of it.
“What you got there, Dipper?” You asked, walking over to him.
He jumped; obviously he was too deep in his book. He hid it behind his back. “Oh it’s nothing really. Just a conspiracy book.”
You raised an eyebrow. “That sounds pretty interesting. This place seems like it would have a lot of conspiracies.”
He looked into your eyes. “You mean, you like this kind of stuff?”
You smiled. “Let’s just say, I had my eyes opened to it recently.”
Bill, whom was still beside you, chuckled slightly. “I guess making a deal with a demon would do that!”
Dipper blushed slightly and brought the book out in front of him. “Do y-you w-want to come and l-look at the b-book with me?” He stuttered.
You nodded. “Sure, do you have somewhere we can investigate these mysteries?”
“Sure, just come with me.”
