failing
feeble
beeping in our hearts.
It's danger.
Wind-blown
heart on overload
the crush of adrenaline that
no one feels
but everyone has heard of.
It's

unnecessary.
Worthless
in fact.
We plan.
On
nothing
and on
everything.
It's knowing
that we can't save
everyone
but we can help
anyone.
It's a hero.
All smiles
and
white.
And the one we
count on.
It's a villain
that no one
trusts
and everyone
loves.
It's black.
Like the
heartache
and deep
like the burn.
It's something we
can't
fix.
