Description “Eurydice, marry me!”
He sang so sweetly,
And yet, all I heard were hollow words.

But what was I to do?
Oh Orpheus, I did not love you,
But if not you, then who?

A saving grace, as I walked the aisle,
As I walked through the valley of the shadow of death,
The Serpent’s kiss upon my toes
A sprinkle of venom, the lovely thorn on the rose.

The shadow of death truly fell upon me then,
Just what I had wished for, friend,
Brought my life to happy end.
Clothes and hair did Orpheus rend.

In Persephone I found a kindred spirit,
If I laughed, Orpheus did not hear it,
So he came to “rescue” me from my demise,
Supposed sadness in his eyes.

“Eurydice, I’ll get you out of here!”
He pulled me close and held me near,
but would not look back to see me.

“Oh Orpheus,” I begged,
Fell to me knees, grabbed his leg,
And, luckily, he looked back to see,
to find out what was wrong with me.

Persephone welcomed me back with open arms,
She and I, captured by death’s charms.

This one pretty much shatters my idea of them being a happy husband and wife. Damno. But your version is very moving, very adeptly done. You're doing great things with this Greco-Roman stuff. I'm very impressed.
