I cleaned up some sketches of Rai and his highly impractical (but cool???) magic scythe xD So, I have a simple little ref for it now, huzzah! I'm gonna copy and paste some of the text I had from the concept sketches to here because I think it's relevant :U

I chose a scythe because...honestly I think it's cool xD Also, I thought it suits him and I had the idea for the blade looking like a new moon *hintDarkrairelatedhint* What's up with that funky blade though? Because I'm extra and always trying to make stuff unique...well, his scythe's blade floats independently from the main staff. It's also loosely attached together via energy chains which Rai has full control over.

Which in turn brings me to the next important part of the scythe's design/ functionality. As Rai can freely manipulate the chains attaching the blade, it opens up more attack variations he can pull off which includes but not limited to hurling the huge-ass blade itself at stuff, which he can also manipulate independently via telekinesis.

You know how scythe wielders chuck their weapon and then they have no weapon during the time it takes for the scythe to boomerang back or some sorta variation of that. Welp, that's also what led me to come up with a detachable blade :T Rai would still have the staff part of the scythe which would effectively just be a bladed staff until the blade returns to him.

Yes, the blade can affix onto the staff prorperly and become a more conventional scythe if Rai chooses to pull the chains taut rather than have the blade free-float. He simply adapts it according to the situation. Obviously, there's downsides this way too but it's a fun interpretation of a popular weapon ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ At least to me that is, and not to mention how this would not work without gratuitous amount of magic excuse :'D Lemme know what you think?
