ChloeMcGhoe — Sculpey Butterfree

Description Butterfree is handmade from Super Sculpey Firm over a foil armature with wire supports attached to a wooden base, hand painted with acrylic paints and protected with a satin glaze.  She stands 3.1 inches tall at the tip of her antennae and 2.4 inches across at the widest part of her wings.


So I'm not entirely happy with this one, I can see a lot of things I could have done better.  This is my first time using a wooden base to keep a sculpture standing upright.  Overall I think it came out okay.

This looks nifty. The antenna look a little awkward, but I like the details on the wings.

Thanks!  Like I said, I'm not totally happy with it, but I personally think the antenna look cute with one leaning more forward than the other

It looks great!! How did you attach the wire to the base?

Thanks!  I used thick wire through the body and feet, drilled holes in the base and applied super glue to keep it in place.  I'm not sure that's the best way, but that's how I did it xD
