I zoom in and explore with my eyes. Minutes pass as I get joyfully lost in the complexity. I continually find little pockets of things going on I wasn't perceiving before. Captivating.

I was thinking of drawing something like this ever since Kesbet's History of Trees contest.
I have see this theme other places but I felt it was worth visiting myself because it stuck with me
I thought of going more ... hmmm... realistic(?) than this and running with a tree corrupted graveyard.... but I kind of wanted to stay away from some of the details involved in that image (like religious iconography .... time specific clothing ... coffins) Maybe I will indulge in those elements some other time.
lazy.... hmmmm.... I think Mountain Dew helped me ..... oh I shouldn't have said that now I really want one....

It's convincingly realistic enough, I think because it's consistent with the rest of your world. But I encourage you to take it further just the same, if you like.
I think lazy is the wrong word, reluctant to commit maybe. Although I usually get obsessed with the details of whatever I create anyway.
I'm drinking lots of coffee with lots of cream to carry me through right now. I'll have a near finished picture and strong brown teeth by sunrise!

I am thinking about the cattle being brought home - the feasting and dead family members returning .... I honestly have been looking for an excuse to draw a nice cow skull... maybe a cornucopia spilling from the skull.... no I don't think that is quite my style ... but thinking about this will be fun.... and I think I have a little reading to do..... I have a few books and such.... and there is always Wikipedia.
Did you ever read Gobblin Market? I reread that the other day and it has been rattling around in my head .... maybe some of the imagery could be shifted.
