I like a bit more space around the main figure, but it is a powerful piece.

to be honest, that is ome of the great freedoms allowed by dawing with a PC - within limits, when you finish you can still seamlessly enlarge the canvas.
With traditional media, it is not so simple - though with paintings it can stlll be managed, with watercolours is a bit of a no-no, I think..

I can't quite make the leap into digital, I wish I could.
.... I created this image by printing the original image on translucent vellum, then drawing on that print, and scanning the piece on top of different backgrounds...
the alternate versions are digital but not in a very controlled way...... more like I ran the image through multiple (free) apps on my iPad .... the results are fun, but I have a hard time taking them seriously because at times the results were more effects than specific artistic choices.

To be honest, my leap into the digital ... whatever ... is a product of three (four) things.
I am an IT engineer (or, rather, I was...), so I understand my PC intimately (more than a woman).
I am very disorganized, but my PC keeps things in order for me (because I have programmed-scripted some "administrative ¡" tricks).
Where I live now, I had a hard time finding suppliers for my "traditional" medium of choice.
For a while, I simply had too much fun mixing old tablets with second hand screens, and once I assembled one of those,
it was like inking on magic paper.
Paper didn't stand a chance...
On the other side, I use very little filters or stuff like that. I love black and white inks, and for me going digital meant mainly having a "paper" that can withstand all my errors.

Very nice. You've incorporated that mechanical jaw, which was part of my original plan but I neglected it in the end.
Automaton sounds too crude for a being with such sophisticated circuitry . . . maybe a cyborg? :]

It's so sensitively worked with both artists' work complementing the other. I really like your thoughts about it, too... reminded me of the tv series 'Westworld'.

What a fab reply, thank you! Those podcasts sound intriguing. Apparently, the emminent Stephen Hawking is not just cautious but warning us of it.
'The gear becoming integral...' Someone told me recently an amusing story about a man who rode his bike so much that he was part bike and the bike was part human. Got me thinking about all the things we habitually come into contact with...
It's fascinating to read your analysis of your drawing. What was so striking for me was that the mechanical elements were not you ie: your usual/expected, but in their execution were so very you!
Thank you again Chobek, I've really enjoyed talking with you. Thanks ever so for taking the time.
