Description So my cousins were over and we were swimming in my pool. My mom was barbecueing and she noticed a little bitty squirrrel crawl onto our deck. It was weird for a couple of reasons. First, squirrels NEVER come that close to people. and second, it was really small and it seemed sick or ill-fed. Im guessing the mommy died or something, because we tried feeding it bread, and he ate it. Me and my cousin laid him down in the grass and he fell asleep in my shadow. I moved out of the way to get a picture of him asleep, but he woke up, i guess the sun was too harsh for him. I caught the picture right after his eyes opened up.

I decided to name him Jerry. He became attached to me. I tried to let him go, because i don't know how to take care of a wild animal, otherwise, i would. I wish i knew how/what to feed him. When i set him down in the grass and stepped back a bit, he followed me. He didnt want to leave me. I put my hand down in the grass and he stepped up on it.

I eventually just had to let it go. i put it near the tree i found him by, and walked off, and didnt look back. It's amazing how attached i became after just half an hour or so. I would have loved to keep him. I just had to let go.

awh. i know what you mean about the letting go.

it is great to have a story with a dev, rather than the usual "...".

Wow, I love the depth of field in the shot, that you got the focus right on the little guys face.

I bet he fell out of a tree.

Anyway, wonderful photograph!
