I know, but when it popped into my head, I had to share it because I might not ever get that opportunity again. The little details scare me. I don't know what it is, but I think it's because if you don't do it right, it can look overworked. And since you've already practiced with so many little details, you can do it easily.

Hey, it's not like if I see a geisha loli walking around I'm gonna say that, but I will think it.
Maybe it's because since I draw basic anime that me putting on too many details would make it overworked or something.

Lol, when the hell are you going to see a geisha lolita walking around, anyways?
I dont know, you should try and experiment with it sometime. Look at pictures that you like with alot of detail and study how its done. Thats how I did it.

Well, maybe, although that would be strange considering I just sort of invented it. There is Wa loli, which is loli with traditional Japanese influences, but thats not quite the same as full on geisha.

My cat's in front of the computer screen. I think she has something to say. Yesterday she tail-swiped my drink onto the ground because she was trying to lay down.

I know! I do worry about her though. She's getting to be a pretty old cat and she's hiding in wierd places (wierd places for her, not for cats in general). She started at first by sleeping in my computer chair. I think she got tired of that because sometimes my mom or me would have to kick her off (not literally, but you know what I mean). Then she started (and still is) occassionally sleeping under Micheal's computer desk. Now she's been starting to sleep in my closet. And you know how I was telling you about that one time she was limping? She was doing it again yesterday. My aunt covinced me it was either her leg fell asleep or she may have landed on it too hard. My aunt also told me about her friend's cat which lived to be around 21 before it died (which could have been amazing for a cat, or normal for a purebred Japanese bobtail), so maybe she'll live longer than we think.

DarkshireWarlock In reply to chocolatehomicide [2008-08-19 02:20:54 +0000 UTC]
I know, but it was awfully funny. Yeah, we discovered from Lori that the default answer for Apples to Apples is "glaciers". We got that because she was telling us about how one time, the ajactive card was "something that moves quickly" or something like that, and one of her friends put down "glaciers". Among the rounds we were playing last night, she had put down glaciers for something and I put down Antartica. My defense was, "it's a continent of glaciers!"

You see, everyone has a hand of noun cards, and then someone puts down an ajective card. You have to choose a noun card from you hand that you think can be best discribed by the ajective card. But, also, you might also need to think about which noun card would appeal to the person that played the ajective card more because they're the one that's gonna choose which noun card they like best. Like, I can't remember what the ajective card I put down was, but someone put down Jackie Chan...yeah, that's how you win when it's my turn: just throw down a famous Asian.

Well, I'm gonna try to come out of my art slump tonight and draw a picture of Elias and Nethaniah , his love interest. It should be an interesting experience for me since you know I haven't drawn a picture with two people in it for the longest time. I don't think I can use my pose book for the type of image I created in my mind, so I'll have to go on google or photobucket and come out with a basic outline-thingy...

DarkshireWarlock In reply to chocolatehomicide [2008-08-21 05:39:04 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, it's kinda like a little project for me. And I know you didn't bring it up, but someone might and I just want you to know, I didn't pick Nethaniah because *kiminess is a great artist. Sure, she is, but I think it's because in a little RP we did in the artist's comments that I'm having Elias chase him. It's because Nethaniah basically rejects him and everyone else. *Kaikuu 's Reegan was actually one of the candidates for Elias, but when I did a little RP with her, Reegan turned out to be more of an older brother to Elias because he accepted him so quickly or something. It's 12:40 and I just got back up a few minuets ago so I'm not thinking straight...

lol. there are two main problems i'm having with it right now. There's Nethaniah's hair, and the pose-picture i chose looks like a drawing which could easily be on here and i don't want to get reported just for using a pose but I also don't think i wanna have to look through thousands of pages to find it. i may have to select a different one of the pictures i chose.

Practice anatomy like crazy. I recommened buying how to draw books that DONT focus on anime. Those anime books are mostly crap, and I think youll find that most artists will tell you that you should know how to draw realistically before you can draw anime style (or any type of styilization, really.) I have a book called "Drawing the Head and Figure" thats really good. Its from the 60's I belive, but Its a quite popular book and Im pretty sure you could find it in any major book store. Not only does it give you poses that you can copy, it teaches you how the body works so you can make realistic poses yourself. Its really helped me improve my artwork.

Whoops, I forgot to try and find it. My mom took me to both Books-A-Million and Barnes & Noble a few minutes ago to find "Kick-Ass", but neither of them had it. I wasn't surprised actually. B&N doesn't even have a comic book section and I guess BAM only carries popular comic brands. You know, the main ones like DC and Marvel, then there's Dark Horse and Archie, but "Kick-Ass" is published by Icon, which I've never even heard of until I looked the comic up.
I've never seen Leave it to Beaver. I don't watch very many old show. Probably the oldest one I watch is Match Game.

Why dont you try at an actual comic book store? We have a few around here, just look them up in the phone book.
Oh, well this is what he(and everyone in that book) looks like: [link]
The Match Game is a pretty bitchin' show, though. Im probally only saying that because I like Charles Nelson Riley(its a shame he died last year) and Betty White (whose still alive and kicking).

i know about the other comic book stores, but since we went around 10 they were probably closed so we didn't bother.
very plain.
yeah, i kinda debate with myself of whether i would want them to make a updated match game or not, because if it was updated, i might actually give a decent answer, but then again, it could just as easily be epic fail.

That how all guys looked back then, lol.
I wouldnt be on it without Charles Nelson Riley, unless they had some other awesome people on there.
