From time to time the water weeps
Singing softly as I sleep,
Rocking waves that dance my dreams
And a valley with a dew-wet gleam

Along the shore a message waits
Hurry I must, to not be late.
Blowing winds that wave my hair
Moonlight here is never rare.

Chalk white sand that cushions my feet
A turquoise sea to keep the beat.
Looking up I see a cloud
The only thing that speaks aloud

A tiny bird past my face
Drops something made of lace
And down the way I see a light
The lonely thing glowing tonight.
