My entry to snake-wing 's contest: Draw My Sona Contest ($$$/Art Prizes + mini gifts)

My first character render ever! To be honest, the last time I rendered anything was a year ago, when I had first started learning 3d. I'm so proud I finished another character. It's my 3rd fully finished model. Usually I give up around retopology/a little later. It's so nice to have a new complete character. Right before starting retopology, I actually bought Retopoflow, and it made this process so much easier. I always enjoyed it but afterwards all I wanted was a break. Also just from using this addon and not retopologising by hand, I learned a lot about topology.

About the picture itself. Vee is watching a scary movie. (I wanted to give him a better expression but it looked weird.)
I had a lot of fun working on his room. I wanted to include some more harry potter themed items, but I was afraid of messing with the copyright. I think it would look better if there were some more objects on shelves and the floor. Since I was modelling everything by myself I only did the most important models. I was pretty inspired by the fact he likes bird watching so I included a lot of details relating to that.
And the last thing. I had a pretty hard time figuring out what pose would be comfortable for him. After a while I came up with an idea that he could be wrapping his wings around a pillow and leaning on it. So that's what I went with. That blue object is a beanbag. I'm clearing this up cause I realised it looked kinda confusing.
Anyway, thats all. I hope you like it. It was super fun working on this piece. I absolutely adore your character <3 His design is gorgeous.
