     Latvia had never seen Russia-san cry before. EVER. Not when he broke his arm, not when he had been rejected by Ukraine, not when he had been 'attacked' in one of Belarus's marriage rampages. NEVER. So you must understand how baffled Latvia was when he saw that the older nation crying in his office, clutching at his chest. Latvia had no idea how to handle this. everyone else was at the market getting tonight's dinner.
     'Latvia, it's payback time! Give that psycho what he has given you your entire life!' a voice in his head was screaming. Latvia walked over to Russia without a sound. Russia didn't notice at all Latvia knelt down next to him. This would be the perfect time to take is revenge. But he didn't. Instead of that he hugged him warmly and gently stroked his hair. Russia was silent for a minute.
     "What are you playing at, Latvia?" He said bitterly. He wiped out his arm and snatched Latvia up by the shirt collar. He stood up and slammed Latvia up onto the wall so that his feet were dangling a few inches above the ground.
     "Huh?" Latvia said shaking violently. "What do you mean, Russia-san?!"
     "How DARE you take advantage of me when I'm most vulnerable?!?!"
     "I wasn't!"
     "Then what the hell were you going!?"
     "I was trying to make you feel better! I don't like it when you cry!" Latvia said truthfully
     "LIAR!" Russia pushed Latvia against the wall harder. Hard enough so that Latvia coughed up a bit of scarlet blood onto the floor. Russia growled at him like a mad dog about to strike an intruder. Latvia tried to breathe in but Russia's grip was too strong. Latvia grabbed at Russia's wrist to try and loosen his grip. "Stop that you sneaky little bastard! What possible motive would you have to not take advantage of me! I've always been abused you and tormented you and you dare to lie and say you were trying to stop my tears from flowing! You dare to lie to ME! Russia! Your master that can kill you without a second thought about it! What kind of and idiot do you take me for?!" Latvia was still trying to get free and explain.
     "If I did strike you," Latvia gagged "then i would be exactly like you! And I could not do that to someone that i care about!" Russia was so shocked at this statement that he immediately dropped Latvia with a thud on the hardwood floor. Latvia started taking in precious oxygen into his lungs. He fought to get away from Russia, afraid what he may do. just as he started to inch away, Russia crouched down and grabbed Latvia by the ankle, pulling him back to him. Russia started to wrap his arms around Latvia's frail body that was still shaking like a leaf. Latvia let out a small whimper and he was pressed up against Russia's warm chest into a loving embrace. He stopped shaking.
     "Latvia" Russia whispered into Latvia's hair. "Why? How can you still do that? How can you still care for me after everything?"
     "I-i don't know Russia-san. I just can't bare the thought of you in pain." Latvia whispered back. Russia hugged him much tighter. Latvia let out a strangled gasp as he coughed up more blood. The red liquid splattered onto Russia's shirt. "OH! Russia-san! I'm sorry about your shirt!" Latvia said quickly. Russia let go of the boy and saw that there was blood dripping from Latvia's mouth. Russia wiped it off on his sleeve.
     "Don't worry about it, Latvia!" He said smiling. "And thank you!"
     "For coughing blood onto your shirt?" Latvia said confused.
     "No." Russia said quietly. "For loving me after everything."
